'13 FL RB AJ Turman (UGA commit)

Hasn't Turman been the starter since his freshman year? If so that would be 4 years at 175ish carries a year...

I'm not in any way saying don't take him...I just remember Jay and HG discussing Green (I think it was Green) at UF and how he didn't live up to his ranking because he was worn out by the time he got to college

totally different cases.

Green was injured and run into the ground while being hurt.

he was being run regardless of score or situation

Thanks. That's brutal though. That will catch up with him.

No it wont, he doesnt take a beating.

relax with the carry talk, it happens.

Taylor and green are different cases who both had knee injuries in their prep careers and were still run into the ground

Florida competition it might be, but it's still high school. It takes years of college and NFL carries to wear a back out.

IYO, does Henry stay at RB at UA?

Driskell isn't asked to do as much as Bray. You guys with the Bray hate are crazy.

I don't hate Bray at all. I am disappointed that he isn't more accurate right now and against better D's. But I love to watch him play.

I think he had a really solid mental game today which was part of my earlier criticism. He just had some bad throws. If he'd thrown it the way he's capable of then UT wins.

However, Driskell is developing quickly and isn't making alot of mistakes in the process. He's accurate and throws a nice tight pass with good velocity.

i like that we put our offense on bray's shoulder's. Hes a good player but he missed a few to many open crossing routes that changed the game. I would rather have a solid running game and a qb that manages the game. Its the formula for winning in the sec (bama, LSU, uga, UF, Miss st, SC,) theres some expections for stuff and other ways to suceed but thoses are the teams in the top 25 that are on top of the sec right now (idk about miss st). The point is im ok with bray being a gun slinger in charge of the offense now but next year or when bray leaves i want to run the ball 60% of the time atleast and start to punish teams.
If green is as good as advertised he'll be the starter. But imo between: Green, Turman, Lane, and Neal. two will split most of the carries with a third back picking up a handful a game. D. Young will probley move to slot or over to the star posion but will still be the returner.

If the other teams in this league had a qb that they could put the game on their shoulders they would. It's the only position that touches the ball on every play and it's why qb's are paid more than anyone else in the NFL.

Watched AJ McCarron look terrible when Bama couldn't run the ball tonite. Our fans are getting just ridiculous man.

Was Turman at the game yesterday? Has he spoken about his trip?
Does anyone think running the ball effectively yesterday will help with Green/Turman?

The flip side of that is coaches telling Bray to play within the system and not try to do too much. Driskell does not appear to be coached that way. He has tiger eyes and plays with relentless aggression.

They're two different QBs. Bray looks like he is pressing in big games. He's putting too much pressure on himself. He's still a young QB. A lot of us forget he hasn't really played in a lot of big games.

I'm sure recruits are noticing how well we are running and more importantly, that we are committed to it. Gotta be a good sign. I don't think the Georgia game was bad for recruiting at all.

I agree 100%, I think it showed that we believe now we're going the right direction with the running game for example. I'm excited to see the offensive gameplan for Mississippi St.

Bama can get away with having a game manager at QB because they are built on the run game and defense. McCarron didnt have a good 2nd half against Ole Miss when it came to completing the ball but he also didnt have a turnover. That part cant be overlooked as well. The last time a team had some success keying in on the run, AJ stepped up and delivered and thats all that matters in the end.

Bray has to do more because his defense isnt strong, they are giving up 30 points a game. I do feel UT goes away from the run too much sometimes. They do have a very solid OL that can create some holes

Hell you didn't watch us run for almost 200 yards on UGA Saturday.

Our fans are critical of Bray when he really has to go above and beyond to win games for us due to a defense that allows 51 points.

Guy can't be off and he's still a young QB based on experience.

Our offense is really growing though and we'll be able to run the ball on ANY defense we play this year. :)

if we had a better running game. We would destroy people. idc what you say about geogia's Defense, they are stud. They have crazy talent and have 3 first rounders 1 in every level of their D. plus an all american in Rambo, rusty or not he played good and so did that Otree guy at LB.

1,092 carries for 9,618 yards. Henry's on track to break Ken Hall's ancient career-rushing mark of 11,232 yards.

Lets be honest, it won't catch up with Henry because he will be sitting on the bench at Bama behind 3 other talented backs. I will be surprised if he sees more than 2-3 carries a game before his jr/sr year.

Honestly I disagree. They may not use him strictly as a RB, but I think he's so talented with the ball in his hands that they'll use him somewhere. He may end up being Bama's version of Trey Burton - not really a RB, not really a TE, just somebody who makes good things happen when he gets the ball.

He'll see the field early.
