To all the *****ing and moaning about the Akron game

What do you mean we can't do it any more? Are you implying Fulmer readily disposed of these teams? I recall him struggling with UAB & Air Force
In all fairness, that AF team was a well oiled machine that night. I remember leaving the game impressed with their execution and discipline.

Akron is a program on the upswing. Outstanding coaching staff has their players believing in the program. We lack speed and experience on defense so it was a bad match up for us. Take away a couple of big mistakes (Bray's first INT and a missed gap assignment 70yd run) and the game would have been as most people expected.

That Air Force team was for real. Ask Inky Johnson, about it. I believe it was the AF game that he received his injury. A super great player and VFL that gave everything for his team. :salute:

One simple question, how do you get up for a game like this anyways? There is simply no incentive to beat a second rate team. Just my opinion.

When you get your teeth kicked in on national on your home field the week before? Getting up for any game should not be an issue.

If Akron had played Bama, GA, Fla, SC, Miss St, or Auburn the Zips would have been beaten soundly by 5 to 6 TD's. But a win is a win, right?

Miss St not so much and they may have beaten Auburn. The rest would have hung 70 on them using the 3's and 4's.

All I'm saying is if I was playing on this team and I woke up yesterday morning and said to myself, we gotta play Akron tonight, I'd be like son of a *****, we gotta play stinking Akron. I say do away with the smaller teams and every team schedule big out of conference games. This would really prove who the best is.
That's one way of thinking. Another is, we play Akron tonight. This will be a great chance to beat the crap out of them, and pad my stats so I can go higher in the draft. I prefer my way of thinking.

I always thought you got up for a game like this because:
1) It was another chance to play the game.
2) For the love of playing the game.
3) You had enough manhood about ya to not let the other guy knock the snot out of you, without knocking more snot out of him (competitive nature).
4) Some of these guys are auditioning for the NFL and megabucks every Saturday.
5) Does anyone really, really, like to lose, especially to an inferior team.
6) You respect your opponent, because on any given gameday ...

How have BAMA/UGA/LSU "gotten up" to beat the piss out of their out of conference games this year?? I see your point but I don't think it should matter if coached properly. The goal should be to dominate your competition regardless of who it may be. JMO

We won by 21 and put up over 500 yards total offense in a trap game between Florida and Georgia. With the let down after losing to Florida, I think we did fine.

Hell, there were ads taken out in the KNS stating rushing the field is criminal trespassing. The game had not been played yet. Huge let down for all. I'm thrilled we made it through the game.

I like this result much better than UAB last year. We finished Akron in the 4th quarter like we were supposed to.

Barring an utter embarrassing loss (last night would've been considered one of the worst), I think Hart will give Dooley thru a 5th year (2014-2015 season) to see if he can get this program headed in the right direction as far as Wins & Losses is concerned (at least 8-9 wins). I think we'll give him a 4 year cycle so the team and its coaches are ALL Dooley's. If we have not pushed or are not pushing for a 9 win season in 2014 then it's time to abort operation Dooley.

I like Dooley, I really do, but I don't think he's the long term answer. I know, I know, stone me for being 999th person to say that. He's recruited fairly well and built some depth where we need it but it's the X's & O's, game day preparation and in-game adjustments that make me believe we'll be forced to go in a new direction in the near future.

Yea all the top teams who blow teams like this out must think like you. I mean good grief poor Okie State, had they gotten up for their first game would have scored 300.

I don't care who it is, you go out to destroy them. That's the problem with this program over the past several years.

The talent level alone should still have made that game a 40 point spread.

Keep thinking like a loser and you will alway dwell in mediocrity.

As if OKSU were having a great season.

The score of the uga vs buffalo game was 24-16 at the half. The ended up only beating them by 22. Uf only beat Bowling green by a few. So, im not really sure what youre saying.

The answer is the simple fact that they are a second rate team coming onto our home field. So therefore, we treat them as such. You put a beating down that reminds them where they stand in the college football world. But since we can't seem to do this any more, what does that say for the state of the program?

So when vandy beats someone like bama or lsu it's not the same? Vandys considered a second rate team in our own conference. But its ok for a different team to struggle with a "nobody" as long as it isn't us.I for one don't enjoy a blowout. I prefer a battle,it makes the win sweeter, the loss easier to swallow. We'll win and lose more games,it's how we play that matters.

And at which mental facility would you be coming out of your slumber. Everyone on that team knew Akron Zips were on the schedule and no you can't take that approach, no matter how good you think you are!
