Romney campaign caught lying, red handed

Wasnt there. Im here now, quit living in the past and asking stupid questions. I dont see any Libyans coming to our aid over there condemning their actions.

Don't hold me to this. But I believe I heard somewhere that the Libyan government denounced the incident and that part of the original, peaceful mob took them (the victims)to the hospital. I'm on my mobile so I can't look it up.

Are you kidding? This is the last thing the Libyan government wants right now.

Huh? He condemns the administrations first response as sympathetic to the rioters who killed the ambassador, when that wasn't the first response?

They blew it, big time. That is going to be the news on this -- that Romney's campaign, in its haste to try to make some political mileage out of this, misrepresented the facts.

True. Much bigger news than an ambassador and other US officials being murdered in a place where the Great One had repaired all the harm done by the evil US. Gotcha.

This is true but unfortunately is not supportive of certain views so it will likely be dismissed.

Also, somewhere in the chaos a group of Libyans recovered the body of the Ambassador (without knowing it was him... simply an American) and took him to a local hospital.

Per the media, George bush is responsible for every single American death abroad, but Obama is responsible for nothing.

It fits a theme - Obama isn't responsible for anything period.

It's horse****

Watched the cable news coverage of this. All of them, except one, got into the error made by the Romney campaign in mistaking the embassy's statement on religious freedom as referencing the attacks which occurred later in the day.

Fox ignored it.

I am stunned.

maybe because it's not the real story? Nah, keep on Romney instead of the Americans being killed because of our President's policies

So, our embassy was attacked in Bhengazi, and you do not blame those who attacked it. You blame your own President. That's messed up.

he is holding this administrations foreign policy under the same scrutiny as Bush's, not whitewashing it

i'm afraid that 90% of this board knows LG is unhinged, hardly malicious

Can't say that I know the man, but he appears to be at least trying to tell the truth, while most others are taking the low road with false blame and personal insults.

if you're so worried about keeping the focus on the attackers then how would diverting attention onto Romney be telling the truth? It's an idiotic ploy to try and divert attention away from the real cause

...and his scrutiny of foreign policy consists of exactly what, besides a cheap shot at his own President for an attack on our embassy? Is he saying that we should have no diplomatic presence in Libya? No, he did not say that.

Yep. Ignore the facts.

Are you serious? You ask me how telling the truth would be telling the truth. Duh. Romney brought the attention on himself, by responding to attacks on our embassy with false accusations about our own government. My wanting to hold the guilty to accounts in no way gives Romney a license to maliciously add false blame to our real injuries. Is that how you think? If I want to hold the guilty accountable, you think it means giving Romney a pass to lie about the situation? If Romney is guilty of lying, then I want to hold him to accounts also. Romney should have blamed the attack on our embassy on those who attacked our embassy. That's not what he did.

The partisanship by some on this board is unbelievable.

I'm a non-partisan independent, so I suppose the mobs will be after me soon enough. For the record, Obama is a good President; I plan on voting for him. Romney has disqualified himself from being President of the United States, many times in many ways.
