Right. Let me know when you all are done waving your tiny peckers around claiming how manly you are. In the meantime I will be helping put criminals behind bars.

Applaud your pursuit of criminals but the pecker part was uncalled for and deserves an apology..

wood pecker....hmmm...is that like a peg leg? Do you schedule visits with the Orkon Man to keep termites away? The good news, this may soon be covered by your insurance as a means of birth control.

Also, if related to Pinocchio, your women will encourage you to lie.

My god the parents the past few years has been terrible. They baby them and then when a coach gets on their ass or when adversity strikes they fold up shop and throw up the white flag. Case in point last week we are down 12-0 to our hated rival, we are driving after 2nd half kick off, our QB throws a pick six and they go in the tank got beat for the 13th yes 13th time in a row to them mother ****ers 38-0....... And then they act like that didn't just happened. I was so pissed I was ready to cry and these son of a guns are high fivein friends and parents etc outside the lockeroom. WTF!!!!! I'm just ready for the season to be over with

At a HS level it's competition and wanting to win. It's football, you have to have mental and physical toughness. You think we'd have these beasts playing college and pro ball if their coaches and parents overprotected them all the time? IMO, hell no. It's kind of a military attitude, if you will. You have to be tough (not cruel) on them in order to teach toughness and strong disciplined minds.

IMO, divorced families are one of the biggest causes of the pussification of our kids. Too much time with mom and not enough time with dad. I know from personal experience. Moms are great, don't get me wrong, but at a certain age in a boys life, having a strong male figure in your life is more important for a kid. I do my best to do that for my son. It's not easy having to be tough on your kid, but you know down the road it's gonna help him. Life is tough, not easy (for most). Sorry, had to get that off my chest.

Giving up shouldn't be fun. If it had been 38-28 or something like that, I would concede your point, but 38-0, that isn't fun and it's certainly not something to celebrate. I think Grizz's anger is directed at their apathy. Always give your maximum effort. Many young people I meet today have no work ethic whatsoever. They've been taught it's okay to skate by or rely on the system. We're breeding kids that believe it's okay to fail. They have a sense of entitlement. They want things handed to them without earning them. I'm not 100%, but I think those are the issues Grizz has. Feel free to correct me Grizz.

Just to expand a little on my own thoughts, if you want to succeed, you have to try. Success doesn't fall in your lap by happenstance. It may be "just a game", but it's also a teaching tool for young men. Organized sports in general allow for a way to teach children that hard work and dedication leads to its own rewards. If you're facing kids unwilling to work hard, unwilling to dedicate themselves to getting better, it leads to frustration. Coaches are a different kind of educator. Teachers educate the mind intellectually, coaches educate the mind morally(though that doesn't feel like quite the word I'm looking for). Just like a teacher gets frustrated when a student fails to put forth effort, so does a coach. They're each trying to help a kid better themselves, but the kid is unwilling to learn. It's about discipline, self respect, and effort.

Seriously, off to bed for realz. I have to get some sleep tonight so I can make it through tomorrow.
