We just went from a team impossible to defend to normal. JH probably has more talent than DR and CP may end up better than DR, but DR was far and away the best wr on this team right now.

Are we talking a -100 yds and 2 TD loss per game here?

There's no courtroom and he isn't charged with any crime.

if he is losing his scholarship and a means to go to school, he has a right to stand up to what his being dismissed for, so yea there is no judge wearing a grey toupee, but there is a process involved.

We are far from normal on offense. We have one of the top QBs in the country, one of the top WRs in the country, one of the top TEs in the country, and an incoming JUCO player considered by many to be one of the best JUCO WRs in years. Add the fact that our OL should be very good, I still believe we have one of the top-5 offenses in the SEC.

lets hope the team just keeps trucking through this.

Rivera is a serviceable TE but lets be honest, he's good, not great.

And yeah, I have to agree with Skeet here, we went from being EXTREMELY dynamic to "just" good.

Completely agree with this.

JH and CP will still stretch defenses. Neal still has a chance to get our running game going again. If those 2 things happen, then there will still be a lot of space underneath for a possession receiver. We need Rogers and Blanc to find that space and catch the ball.

Bowles, Pig, Croom, Z. Rogers, Blanc....who am I missing??

They all need to step up now.

Really can't know who will step up big, but my hunch, right or wrong, is that Bowles has the most upside and possibly could step into some of soon. What can I say. I am originally from west Tennessee.

But maybe something to do with the right to receive and education for playing college football.

Nope, not that either. Right to education isn't a fundamental right.

not to mention, even if it was, taking away an athletic scholarship doesn't preclude DR from getting an education.

Damn I think a lot of y'all would just rather not even play the season now SMH

I'm just apathetic right now. Very difficult past three seasons.

And it's just silly expecting FRESHMEN to step-up and produce even half the numbers DR produced. Sure, they need to step-up, but that's just setting yourself up for disappointment. This will just create one more reason for UT fans to rely on freshmen. It's not realistic and shouldn't be expected.

Can we call it a property right arising of the contractual dimensions letter of intent that can not be deprived by a state agent without due process? Its probably litigable. No need to cite case law back. You may be right in your analysis. There has been some suggestion of an internal appeal process is at play in the DR situation.

Other teams can cover this team now. Hunter is great but will get more attention now. CP has proven nothing yet in a real game so until he does, hes an unknown. Rivera is a wild card, hes ok but not great, teams are not going to have to game plan for him.

We have to have one of the young guys step up and be a reliable option in the slot.

Rogers cost this team at least 1 Win, possibly 2. Much much easier to game plan against this offense now.

We aren't relying on freshman for that. We are relying on CP and Rivera for those numbers.

The freshman need to produce, though, yes

Right to due process has absolutely nothing to do with right to play college football.

sure it doesn't but he has to go infront of an academic/ school board to tell him why he is being dismissed. its pretty commonplace at most D1 schools, and he can respond, regardless of the outcome, but he gets a chance to say something.

this isn't about fundamental right, its just the way every school in the country deals with issues related to quid pro quo.

All kinds of teams are exactly like us now, so normal. Noone could trot out a DR, CP, JH and MR at the same time.
