I think more than anything I just wasn't able to see this offense in top condition...it would have been freaking awesome to watch.

It is going to be hard to be excited for next week now...I have the feeling creeping back in. :-(

Understanding it is substance related. One game suspension proposed. Test is disputed and Rogers has blown up about one game suspension. Hart would not allow da'rick to play during appeal process and said he sits for state. They are working behind the scenes frantically with a person that is extremely volatile. Person I spoke with said better odds than not he is back if they can just calm him down.

The tweet just got me pumped again, DR ain't raining on this parade

@JawuanJames70: I'm excited only 8 days until we get live in the Dome. The show must go on

Team didn't seem totally surprised. They still seem more than ready to go do work on Friday in ATL. Just tough losing that kind of talent.

Let it go man, what is done is done. If anything I am even more anxious for Friday.. This team will rise above.

No they didn't and judging by what Skeet says I am sure deep down a lot of players are glad he is gone. Horrible situation to lose a stud like DR, especially since the general consensus is that he was about to straight blow up this year. But at the end of the day at what cost? To be honest I was a little worried that out of the three he would complain about touches and not getting his numbers.. Least we won't have to worry about that. Another positive is our freshmen are going to more seasoned ad developed for next season.

This was DR's last year one way or another. There is definitely a sense of relief that his saga is over.

Gotta agree with you here, Flat Top, especially with the first part of your comment. The players sound as if it's a relief to not deal with his antics. Huge loss of a talent, but it might be best for the team. Only time will tell starting next Friday night. GO VOLS!! Remember, there is not one guy that is bigger than the program.

Now we can have a serious conversation about a newcomer having a significant impact at wide receiver.

Like I said before, it sucks because this was going to potentially create a special season with the big 3. But I'm not convinced that Cordarrelle Patterson isn't our best WR.

We still have weapons: Hunter, Patterson, and Rivera are a formidable trio

So are we talking addition by subtraction, in that we might have had too much talent lining up to be happy once Neal puts this team on his back?

This isn't Dooley's decision.

He suspended Da'Rick indefinitely. (Probably means the first game or two.)

Da'Rick got pissed and left.

I agree this may well have happened. At least it happened before the first quarter of the Florida game. We'll survive and someone will step up. Wide receiver U ( again ).

Saw this quote from NCst coach TOB:

"It's the first day that we introduced Tennessee to the team. They got their first look at a lot of things and its a good thing we started today."

Surely he means they got their first look as far as actually practicing vs our schemes. Still seems like they should've already introduced some things here and there about us by now. If players haven't at least been watching our film they're screwed. Also sounds like he thinks they didn't do very well.

I don't understand how Dooley says Rogers is suspended indefinitely then he says they don't expect Rogers back, if that's the case then why not just say he is dismissed?

Even Hubbs said he doesn't expect Rogers back.

Good post...I'm with you here.
As talented a player he is, his divisive and insubordinate actions were too much to overcome. On a positive note can't help but think this strengthens team chemistry. And as Skeeter said, another scholly just became available. Little doubt about taking two (JUCO) WR's now.

That.was the weird part to me to. If he's totally gone or it was his third failure, he's off the team... but who knows.
