'13 FL RB Derrick Henry (Bama commit)

The longer that DH waits to announce then the better that it is for us. Let him wait until after the TN-FL game...that's great! Remember all the Bama insiders said he would announce in July shortly after he had de-committed from UGA...didn't happen. Now, it's supposed to be towards the end of August...and he might wait again. He is either REALLY loving the attention and wants to continue to drag this out, or deep down he really knows that the best place for him is at UT and wants to see us winning big games before he pulls the trigger. Saban and staff are probably negative recruiting us, like everyone else, saying that DD will be gone after this year if he doesn't win...blah, blah, blah. In turn DH is hesitant to pull the trigger to us. If he waits until September and we start off 3-0, then I actually feel very confident that he will be a Vol, along with a few other big names...Bell and Kamara are the 2 that come to mind.

outside of this board you would be in the majority, alot of people dont like him at RB.

Henry seems to be the type of athlete that can excel at nearly any position, especially if his height, weight, vertical, 40 time, and shuttle time reported in this thread are accurate. He is tall, strong, quick, and fast. While I may agree that his better NFL position would be TE (or maybe even a 4-3 DE), I think he is athletic enough, even with his above average height for a RB, to excel at nearly any position in college, even in the SEC. Heck, he may even prove the doubters wrong that RB is actually his best position. Whatever position he ends up excelling at, I hope it is for UT.

I think this man likes his parties. Nothing like gator tail steaks, Fat Tires, and some friendly gator taunting on the strip to get you in the mood for a great game. Best atmosphere ever! I'll definately be there.

I agree with you for the most part. I think he would be absolutely disgusting at TE or LB (instead of DE) but he's got the athleticism to excel at RB as well. I can't blame the guy, who wouldn't want to play RB instead of TE or LB? I don't care either way as long as he ends up a Vol.

Jamal Lewis will be on campus soon. Could you imagine the effect Coach Graham and Jamal being there at the same time would have on Derrick? Wish he could make it up to Knoxville and it not be a violation, he would commit on the spot.

I don't think this one is going to be decided next month, JMO. Too much fluctuation in recruiting. Bama's RB situation could change by the end of next month (so could UGAs and UTs). I also don't think he will make a decision for Bama if "UTs not far behind." As much as he's playing the recruiting game, I think he has a pretty good head on his shoulders. I don't see him making the decision without be 100% sure. Again, this is JMO.
