It was very noticeable. It's what makes the differnce between a good corrdinator and a great coordinator. Excited to see how Sal does in this regard.

I think that had more to do with UT's personnel than Monte.

Not really. Fans are mad because he just up and left pretty much without notice. And almost having us left with probation.We bought into what he was preaching and got burnt in the process. But we survived it and i expect the best season since losing to LSU in the SEC Championship under Fulmer and Ainge. Could be a special year. Hopefully anyway! :)

Need a cut and paste feature for this.

Nothing to do with using UT phonelines to tell EEs to stay out of class and skip a year and play at USC.

Nothing to do with selling himself as opposed to the university that employed him.

I could go on and on but this is a good starting point not to think very highly of the guy.

Well the phone thing was Coach O. As unfortunate as it is most kids committ to Coach's and not schools. Look at Ala. These kids wanna play for Saban. If he wasnt there they would not have the talent they have now. It does suck because if the coach leaves your FR and brings in a guy you dont like then you either play for someone who didnt recruit you or you transfer.

I don't think that's what a coach should be selling. If you were a branch manager at a bank, do you sell the company you work for? or do you sell yourself?

Meaning do you go in business for yourself and infer to prospective clients(recruits) that you are the one that will give them the bells and whistles that other banks would not?

Or do you give the institution props seeing as though they have been around before you got there, and will be there after you leave, and allowed you to have the forum and platform to meet with the clients to begin with?

That was my problem with Kiffin, he hadn't really accomplished anything up to that point and still had the nerve to suggest the recruits came to UT because of him. Not the over 100 years of tradition, not the 6 NC, 9th all time in wins, facilities he said with his own mouth were the best he has scene(before the new facilities).

There was more than enough to attract a potential recruit to Tennessee without going into business for hisself. I t wasn't his playground. It was his job, one he was fortunate to have.

USC played the mid-tier programs of the SEC when they played our conference. They didn't schedule Tennessee, Florida, Georgia, or LSU during those times. They didn't want to take that risk of getting beat.

Don't tell people around here this. Some around here think a kid should commit to play for UT even if the coach sucks.....

Baloney!....kiffen hasn't proved he can coach and to be completely honest neither has his papa...not in college at least....think about it....what have they done? What titles or how many nts have they won?...they are fieldin all this talent and have proved what exactly?...im no bammer er lsu fan but I think they would kill usc...I think tennessee would beat usc...im serious too...if we played them tomorrow they would get jacked up!...I hope we get a chance to play them in the next few years cause tennessee will jackem plum up!!!

Last time I checked heis daddys defense played nfl....we talkin college fb right now....and I would take almost everyone in sec over usc...prolly ky too...haha. besides....they better sop runnin ther mouths about us n worry bout their own division.....I bet they wont even get past oregon or washington either one this ear!
