Where are the rest of Romney's Tax returns ?

No it's not

In 24 hours you have Bill Kristol, George Will, and Haley Barbour calling on Romney to release them, calling it "stupid" that he is not, and surmising that there must be something so bad in there that he'd rather let this story go on and on and on than release the returns. Now rumors that he's saying that he'd quit before releasing more, which is totally inconsistent with what he said just a few months ago (not that such a change in direction is remotely surprising). Then you have a Republican say he's heard from the inside that they are considering releasing more, only to have to quickly take that comment back.

I'd say its getting pretty bad.

You've got to admit, the attack is shaky at best.

I don't personally care about his returns as long as he's not doing something illegal. My views on the difference in tax rates for investment income versus ordinary are well known here, but it's not his fault he can pay such a low rate on such massive income.

But it is a heckuva campaign issue and he has just gift wrapped it for Obama. It is really surprising to me at this point.

Why do tax returns even matter? They didn't when Geithner became our Treasury Sec

The sheer size of his income will serve as fodder for the argument that he's not able to relate to regular folks. If he used a bunch of gimmicks to avoid taxes, that would be even more evidence of that. And if he invested in China or something similar that would be worse.

There is the question of whether he would show big income from Bain after 1999. That would be really bad.

So it only matters to for trivial partisan attacks. :eek:k:

gimmicks like owing hundreds of thousands n back taxes like Geithner and half of the other goons Obama employed? The hypocrisy is rampant.

I suspect that your simplistic approach is what has driven the Romney campaign response so far.

Good job. Keep it up. Its clearly working.

You think this situation is complicated? Ha.

Whatever. Go on convincing yourself that this is actually a big deal.

Rickety Perry and Ron Paul are now calling for Romney to release more tax returns.

The National Review is also calling for Romney to release more returns. They are saying he has to release more, its just a matter of tme.

Romney standing firm that he will not release any more.

How long will it be before Romney caves in and releases more?

He can't do it. No way the average Joe can understand his returns and the left will do just what LG has done. I've done a complete 180 on this.

By October I don't think it will amount to a hill of beans anyway. Tax returns simply aren't going to get extra people to the ballot box. Independents won't care.

... and whether he releases tax returns won't change the ObamaCampaign's tact of distracting from the economy and trying to paint Romney as an evil, rich guy.
