I have a Mazdaspeed 3. Nothing is wrong with it per-say but there is a warranty extension on the turbo and valves, and I want it inspected before 70k.

$200 for an intake?

I would not pay that. An air intake should not cost that much and could be remedied with some duct tape.

I would follow up with a local mechanic. Or perhaps try to find the part used.
