Predictions for Tenn vs LBSU

That's a shock shouldn't your team be in the tournament before you can make a prediction. Why don't you give us a synopsis on the NIT field since that is where your second rate program belongs.

Long beach with the upset somewhere around 76-68?

i hate to call you out, but IF there is an upset, the score will be a lot higher than that.

and there won't be an upset, if you seriously picked this on your bracket, go ahead and mark LBSU out.

idk... I don't see a LBSU blowout in any way. But, if the 49'ers do figure out, somehow, to stop Lofton, it's going to be a long day for the Vols.

I would like to refer you to the 4 games in which Chris Lofton did not play this season. Tennessee went 1-3, and shot something like 40% over that four game stretch. Tennessee with a healthy Lofton is a formidable basketball team, and can beat anybody if he's hot. But the Vols' success hinges directly on his play.

people have been trying to figure out a way to stop him for years, I wouldnt count on LB doing it in a week

Lofton point totals in various Vols' victories this season...

6, 4, 8, 14, 13.

While a great game for Lofton certainly helps UT's cause, it isn't paramount for a UT victory.

He's also scored 29, 21, 22, and 21 in losses, so even a great game by him doesn't guarantee anything.

Just to refresh my memory how many teams have contained Lofton for more than a half a game this year and who were they? I think he is averaging 21 pts a game for a reason and draws the number one defender every game. He is amazing at some of the shots he takes and makes. He will be his own worst enemy but he has grown so much I think he has found ways to score other than the three.

Not directly on a team like LBSU... And I wouldn't refer back to January..I guees you forgot we had 3 sometimes 4 freshmen in the lineup at the time. They've matured alot since then, and guys like Chism and Ramar have had some big games this year..

Lofton has also shot 50% or under in 6 of the 7 losses in which he played.

For the record, I picked Tennessee to win this game. LBSU is a very veteran, well-coached team, and I believe they could give Lofton some trouble. I agree, the freshmen have done some maturing, which is why I picked Tennessee in OT. The superior talent pulls away, but barely.

Why can the Vols not have a Great Game like they did against Texas, Ohio State, Ky, FL, Vandy, Ok St, GA, Memphis and a few others. Its got to happen sometime! I know they were at home a majority of those games but the intensity was there for them. I think that they bring it today. We seem to feel the past is a one and done. This year BP's second knows the hump and I think he has prepared them for it.

I guess I would be more interested in his stats since his return and playing at 100%. He was the team at the first where we experienced several losses but he is not expected to carry this team like he did the first part of this season. This team is becoming more of a team with a star instead of a Star with a team. There is more role clarity and balance on this team than since the Mid 90's. We now need for Lofton to have a good game to win not an amazing or great game to win. Tennessee is evolving into a team and not just a bunch of me or I team. TEAM!
