While I understand Dalton is in a tough spot, I think the best thing he could do is make up his mind now. Don't drag it out till NSD. If he ends up costing us a spot that the coaches can't fill in a last minute scenario, that is where he is asking for fans to turn on him. I have no doubt Dalton knows where he is going to school right now. I think he would be a difference maker here at Tennessee. If he decides to stay close to home, I can understand that as well. Just make your choice and let's focus on Kirven, Davis, and Patterson.

One way or anther he wont make or break this class.

He is in a very tough spot.

In the end, I think he sticks with UT.

But if he doesn't I wont blame him or his parents one bit.

Good kid. Good family.

This is how everyone should feel. What satisfaction is there in bashing the kid or his parents?

If its best for the FAMILY shouldnt that be what we want also?

I gotta say, Mack Brown and Company have a lot of ground to make u in the relationship building department with Santos. Not sure you can genrate that kind of trust in one weekend. I also have a hard time believing that his father is exerting that much pressure on him to attend Texas. I too wouldn't be surprised if Dalton flipped to Texas, but it won't be because Dooley and Co. didn't do their level best to make him feel totally at ease with Tennessee. What will make his decision easy is if he and his family read all these posts degrading his family for the decisions they make. It's their choice. I know Tennessee has shown him how much he would be valued as part of our team. He should look at Texas' timing as a real red flag. Just my opinion. Negateers....tone it down a notch!

If you think we are bashing. Wonder what Dalton's dad is saying about us/UT? I hope Dalton does what Dalton wants to do. Period... With a period at the end.

I hope we get a Tom Bom rant! He is probably still severley hung over, or operating on a cadaver. I missed out!

It was.interesting, not the craziest rant I've seen on here over the years.

Btw, I always read his name as "tombo mcfaren."

Of course I remember him. Was pretty upset, but not shocked when he left. If I'm not mistaken he was a five star at some point, on some site. He was also listed as an athlete by most, so the position change doesn't shock me too much. Nice post Floyd.

This doesn't really have much to do with Santos, but I think it is interesting enough to post.

The last UT commitment to switch to Texas (that I can remember) was ATH/WR prospect Demarco Cobbs in 2009. Does anyone remember this?

Cobbs was slated to be a WR prospect for the Vols and was a 4* player. I think he played QB in HS. He was hurt last year for the LongHorns, but I am pretty sure he will be back next year as a redshirt sophomore. What is even more interesting is the position he plays. He was going to be a WR type guy, but he switched to LB at Texas and was going to see some serious PT last year before a season-ending injury.

Just thought it was interesting. This is the 2nd time in the last 5 years that Texas has tried to switch a UT LB commit.

This is very similar to the Jeff Luc saga.

Luc was the #1 rated MLB by most sources and a top 50 player overall by the same groups. We all crashed when that 5* LB didn't pick UT.

In his 1st 2 years he has less than 25 tackles and the experts didn't find near as many faults in his evaluation coming out of high school as they seem to with Santos.

If he comes here I'll be happy but my guess is that if he doesn't then our football team won't miss him any more than we do Jeff Luc.

With Sentimore, McCullers and Couch etc. playing up front whoever is playing MLB is gonna look good and a kid like Santos would have to be a full bore Texas homer to pass that up.
