Official Peyton Manning megamerge

I agree with your points. No way would the Titans, Vikings or Texans get him. If I had to guess IF they released him I would say 49ers, Jets, Seahawks or Cardinals.

Thanks.

What's really peaked some intrigue on my part though are the two teams with (possible) QB issues i added (quickly looking through the league) yet that nobody's talking about here: the bills and the browns

Of course, I remember last year (& maybe the year before) when buffalo's coach made it clear that they were happy/set having Ryan Fitzpatrick as their QB (yet seemingly everyone - sans myself - seemed utterly convinced that they would be drafting a QB in the first round). They may very well still have him as their future guy; the only reason I mentioned them is because I really don't have much of a graps on where he falls with them

The browns make me a bit curious now though, because they are certainly presumed to be looking in another direction at QB. Now whether they'd be looking at manning or if they're set on drafting RG3, I can't say. If there is some heavy dispute - as has been rumored - on who to take with the 4th overall pick (RG3 seems the favorite but there's been a bunch also about Trent Richardson and some others there), signing manning could alleviate some of that and allow them a high pick in another area.

I really think the other places you mentioned regarding my earlier post are much more likely as final destinations for manning.
Yet...something about manning ending up in Cleveland just feels very - I dunno - just strikes me as a very Montana-to-Kansas-city-like ending (granted Montana was traded to them)

I really don't see him in Cleveland. I think they will trade up and get RG. I doubt they would pass on RG to get a 36 year old QB.

If I could choose I would like him to go to the Jets, he would likely get himself 1 more SB and finally there would be a team to give the Pats a race.

If I were San Fran I would send Smith packing for Peyton in a heart beat. (Not going to happen though)

Dang, I forgot about SF as a destination. He should go there. They'd be so good. That would eliminate any chance at a brother bowl in the championship though, which would pretty much be the greatest thing ever, IMO.

Again, I don't think it was at all likely, just said that it for some reason seems to have an odd "end of Montana's career (in KC)" similarity about it...intrigue didn't mean I could seriously see them making such a move here - or it's a move they should definitely make - just that stopping to think about such scenario created an urge toward exploring or discussing it further

The browns don't need to trade up to get RG3. The teams picking ahead of them are the colts, rams, and Vikings - all of whom are set at QB

If the colts were trading away manning to dallas in order to free up space b/c they plan on drafting Luck, why would they want Tony Romo in return...

they wouldnt want romo - but he also wont be traded - they are not going to pay 28 million for the picks they would get in a manning trade - they will release him in march or keep him and trade the luck picks

I understand everything you are saying, I was just responding to how I see it going.

If the Ravens want RG, they better trade up if they don't I could see some other team trading ahead of them and drafting RG, I am sure the Rams would trade back a few spots if the offer was right.

Ravens?

I'm not sure the rams trade back - I think they're pretty set on getting Blackmon to complement Bradford. Some team might have to give up a boatload - more than just draft picks - to get them to actually consider moving back...and likely they wouldn't be willing to take a trade where they drop too far down the order

Sorry I meant Rams, I was listening to the talk of Chuck Pagano being named Colts coach so the Ravens were on my mind.

No, but I think they could trade back a couple of spots and still get Blackmon

Maybe, but if so I don't think they could go back further than 5 (though honestly I don't that the bucs would necessarily pass on him either)

But after that the teams are Washington, Jacksonville, and Carolina. I don't think he's still on the board after those 3

Wait that only clears up part of the miscommunication there. You were talking about the if the "ravens" wanted RG they'd have to trade up for him

There is zero chance of the Ravens trying to go after RG3. They're going to re-sign Flacco to a multi-year mega $$$ contract.

Exactly, that's why I'm asking him to clear up which team he meant.

I presume he was talking about the Browns based on the flow of the conversation

Browns, I had several things going when I was typing. If the Browns want RG they might have to move up because if not some team might give the Rams the kings ransom to move up. Sorry for earlier, I know I probably confused the hell out of you.

Harbaugh got pushed out of Indy by Peyton Manning. But maybe he won't hold any hard feelings about all of that.

Harbaugh was ripe for the pushing at that time. If it means getting to watch Peyton do his thing for four more years (maybe)....I think he could deal with it.

Denver needs an o-line! Tebow was running for his life! And no, I'm not a Tebow lover...hated him at Florida...but I respect the way he lives his life and plays the game.

Tebow will end up in Jacksonville....Peyton will end up in Denver....mark my word.

I am not a Dallas fan (except for Witten), but I agree they are the team. Jones will pay the bucks, they have the most upside in attracting good players, they have the tradition, stadium, marketing, etc. I would stay away from Snyder and Shanahan. Miami has too far to go before they can get to a SB.

Dallas could trade Romo and get some players/draft picks to shore things up. Draft a QB of the future to train under Peyton.

Really, this makes the most sense of anything to me. Which is why it would totally shock me if it happened. I grew up a Cowboys fan, so I think it would be awesome, but there's no way Jerry Jones does a deal that would help the franchise on the field that much. No way.

Teams that NEED a QB in the NFL:
Cards
Vikings
Indy
Jacksonville
Miami
Jets
Skins
Oakland?
Seattle

All a good fit per their basic need of a proven QB.
