I disagree with anyone who says we don't need or want him. Dooley and Sunseri both love the guy.

That being said... we'll replace him with a DL (Briscoe) and we still have Peters who will also be a MLB so it won't make or break us. I will agree with that much.

The intangibles make him more attractive. Maybe he is athletically unique for his size, but I don't think he is exactly elite.

There are faster guys. There are stronger guys (he's very stout though).

I like his attitude more than anything.

We can find another 6'2 240-250 lb guy in the next few classes if that's what we are looking for. But not many of them bring it like Santos does.

Santos is quoted as saying he 99% vol and mentioned throughout his recruitment that sec>big 12 due to the run game. Yet "insiders" who have done nothing more than guess for the last month on all things relating to ut athletics now say he's gone and the forum takes it as gospel, it's embarrassing to watch.

The thought of the middle being manned by Johnson and Santos, Peters at the other LB spot, and Maggit as your hybrid LB/DE is scary. Just my opinion.

Dude, his gf is fugly. The drama surrounding this guy is getting annoying. Come or go dude, but stop saying 99.9% this and that. Be a man Santos.

It's not an overhaul. You are basically taking a DE and standing him up + having a NT instead of two DT (McCullers).

3-4 will be our base defense, just like Alabama. But they are in a 4-3 and 5 man fronts alot too.

"Multiple" has been the term Dooley is using. But we are going from a 4-3 to a 3-4 "base" defense.

I don't think the problem has ever been us not wanting him at Tennessee , or thinking that he isn't any good. We have said better things about him than any Texas board or recruiting site. It's the other way around. Every other week something changes with him. It finally got to most of us and nobody is really shocked or upset. Pretty much everyone is just saying that he should do what his dad ..... errrr he wants to do. Hurry up though because signing day is not far off. If he ends up a Vol , great. If not , good luck to him.

I think they will take what they have and run what best fits the roster we have for now, and continue to recruit toward a 3-4. The heat is on to take some steps forward, whatever they run needs to be good pretty quick.

Im not a DC but it seems a little more complicated.

We are not without some LB depth. A few have mentioned Harris, there is also Propst and Sapp just off the top of my head.
