Jack Daniels is a very popular beverage here. Canadian Club is too I think. I don't drink though, so I can't comment whever I like either myself.

I do like apples. However they are my least fav fruit. My favourite fruit is Sharon Fruit.

I do occasionally say bobs your uncle. But we say cut a long story short way more.

I have never talked to or seen Quasimodo, he is French don't forget.

I would feel very bad about England being a part of Germany. I thought the Tennessee Vols were named from the American Revolution not WW2 though. I know nothing about the US rev though, if someone can give me a summery, please do.

If I ever said Cheerio, I would not be asking for cereal. We do have Cheerios here BTW.

Mr bean (Rowan Atkinson) isnt my favourite comedian. It's a toss up between peter kay and chris rock for me.

England I suppose does carry a grudge on France. But it isn't violent or anything, just banter.

I don't know anything about Beckham, he is your burden now.

I have never been to the states, therefore I have never been to Knoxville. FYII have never been outside of Europe.

There is no Benny Hill channel. We do have a channel called "Gold" and that shows a lot of Benny hill.

Thanks. I was curious about that.

Origins of 'Volunteers'
As the state's land grant university, Tennessee draws its nickname from the name most associated with the state.

Tennessee acquired the name "The Volunteer State" during the War of 1812. At the request of President James Madison, Gen. Andrew Jackson, who later became President himself, mustered 1,500 from his home state to fight at the Battle of New Orleans.

The name became even more prominent in the Mexican War when Gov. Aaron V. Brown issued a call for 2,800 men to battle Santa Ana and some 30,000 Tennesseans volunteered. Tennessee's color guard still wears dragoon uniforms of that era at all athletic events.

The term "Volunteer State," as noted through these two events, recognizes the long-standing tradition of Tennesseans to go above and beyond the call of duty when their country calls. The name "Volunteers" is often shortened to "Vols" in describing Tennessee's athletic teams.

I knew that wasn't something the brits would highlight in their history lessons, but I figured that everyone in England would at least KNOW about it. Wow total propaganda over there, huh?
