Poster on VQ claiming he has talked to a basketball coach of a prominent Knoxville HS and Santos' father has already talked to this HS coaching staff about his freshmen son playing there. He is claiming that the Santos family is still planning on moving to Knox with Santos. Not ground breaking news at all. But I thought I'd share.

Thanks for the flowd. Good catch. At least it tells us that his family is still, it seems at least, committed to coming to Knox.

I think the emphasis will be on multiple BUT yes, love the idea of A.J. and DS side-by-side, w/ the addition of McCullers and Sentimore to the D-Line...just nasty.

The first year of transition to a different defensive scheme can be very frustrating for fans, especially if you don't have the right players for your system. It takes some time for the players to get comfortable.

SIAP but has CDD or CSS stated what kind of D they will play.

Multiple schemes...4-3 and 3-4.

Why you so worried Dawg? Lol we're going to be multiple with Mt. McCullers, Sentimore, and Couch setting the tempo up front. And A.J. will be scraping off everything clear and free with those three big boys up front. Get ready Dawgs it's on this year. Let's Go Vols!!!!

No, not worried. I feel very good about getting the Fightin' Dooley's in Athens this year. Just a question for conversation. The first year under CTG was tough to watch. We just did not have the right players for the system and the players just did not look comfortable at all the first season under CTG's system.

Call me crazy but I think UT's defense was pretty good last year, well, except for your secondary. I'm sorry but they were awful last year.

The D-line looked good. I remember they were pushing around the LSU O-line last year. Lack of depth killed you guys there.

The LB's looked good too. Inexperience and lack of depth got you there.

Secondary was ranked 12th in the country in pass defense. Where was UGa ranked? 12th ain't bad.

Main thing about the secondary was that it was young and could never get settled enough to allow us to comfortably blitz.

They were going multiple with Wilcox. They've been recruiting that way since DD arrived. CSS's experience under Fox (4-3 guru) and Saban (3-4 guru) potentially helps with both.

Agreed on all fronts. Depth on the front and speed on the backside is what we have to have no matter what we run. I expect CSS to play to the strengths of the players and not overload them. Whether 3-4 or 4-3 my one knock on Wilcox is it seemed his system was somewhat confusing to the players at times. Could have just been confusion due to youth but I'm hoping for some simplicity and aggression from Sal.

Not to mention his experience as a DL coach and LB coach at Carolina and Alabama.

Our front seven wasn't the problem until 3rd down when we couldn't get a stop. But you're running your mouth about "The Fighting Dooleys". You'll eat your words this year. Have fun trying to run the ball sir. You won't have cover 0 to throw the ball against this year either. I Can't Wait(Bart Scott voice lol) to come get some payback.

Yeah. There were injuries but the big problem was the old vs young thing.

After Brewer went down, Waggner and Gordon (somewhat) were the only two older guys who showed SEC level talent. The new guys (Moore, Coleman, Lanier, Randolph) looked completely lost at times but you could see the talent gap too.

They ended up experimenting with different combinations all year long. I like Coleman and REALLY like Randolph and Lanier going forward. I hope Moore pulls it together completely.

FWIW, we might be tempted to write some guys off... but remember that Gordon was only a Soph. Under better circumstances, he would have been learning as a reserve and maybe even RS'd. We really shouldn't have to expect even a talented guy to contribute heavily until their 2nd or 3rd year... maybe even a RS Jr year. Gordon seemed to have problems with consistency... but a few times he made some pretty impressive plays.

Fightin' Dooley's offends you? Ok, my bad.

Come on with that man. Bama passed on us(lack of pass rush killed us), Murray should've had around 350 yards(he's overrated as hell), we played well against SCAR, LSU passed whenever they had to, Arky game was crazy. We had trouble whenever a team went vertical on u.

UGA and UT should always be worried about each other. It won't be any fun otherwise.

UT barring more catastrophic injuries should be much more "game" this year than last.... and your Dawgs didn't exactly hammer that young, thin team.

I'm sure you know this... but UT's O w/ Hunter and Rogers was vastly different than the one with only Rogers.

UT actually lost the one they could least afford to lose. Hunter does more to make others around him better than Rogers does. He's faster so he is always a deep threat which opens up the mid-level or short game. He's an excellent route runner which means double teams don't always pay and 3rd down is almost a gimme. He can out jump any DB making him a red zone threat. He has better hands so drops seldom hurt you.

On the play he got hurt, UF was double teaming him... and he had about a 3-5 yard cushion.

I have been watching UT football for a long time. I do not believe the Vols have ever had anyone better at all of the WR skills.

Sorry , as an opposing fan , you have to be constantly polishing off some of these guy's epeens to get any kind of humility. I didn't really take exception to anything you said. We sucked most of last year in most phases of the game. That said I pray we pull a 180 and kick UGA's a55 hard this year. We really need it as a fanbase.

I really wish I didn't like Mark Richt like some of our fans. He's baby Fulmer though. That's as far as I will go though. Richt was really cool when I was at his camp. Seemed to like me until I sprained my knee up there. Got to shutdown Sean Bailey's sorry ass before I got hurt too. Hahahahahahahahaha another Dawg Bust. Tell all those backs to have fun with Santos okay Dawg insider.
