Dooley laughs at and not with Brent Hubbs.

Shanks still has a relative here, although I am not sure that will be the case after this weekend.

(On the status of Da’Rick Rogers)
“I don’t know why you all keep bringing that up. Da’Rick is on our team and he hasn’t been suspended. Jimmy (Stanton) keeps telling me that they keep asking out there. I don’t want to talk on our roster issues, but Da’Rick is on our team and he is good. I don’t really get it, but it just continues on. I guess it’s just like me retiring. We used to get our fix for drama about, I guess, 20 years ago in the afternoon soap operas. That was the only drama that you could really get that got you all stimulated, but know we get it 24 hours a day, man. There is a lot out there. I guess it is a mistake not getting involved in the drama. Thank God I have Jimmy. I used to get my annual chatter update from Hubbs at my radio show, right Brent? That’s what we are in and the drama can become a reality if you don’t address it. I am acknowledging that and that is why I am here today, one of the reasons I am here today.

That was an excerpt from what I was talking about. He was laughing about it with Hubbs at the presser. He likes Hubbs.

Hubbs is one Of dooleys favorite members Of a press corps that he dislikes.

My stupid phone keeps capitalizing words like of...crap.

His Cousin works on the s and c staff. Could easily see him getting hired at the convention. If a school is desperate to.pull shanks it could help his cuz in the search.

What's funny is that one of the jack wagons from Kville got on 104.5 in Nville describing this excerpt the next day, and how Dooley was 'mad' and acting crazy. I think shows otherwise. Drama queens.

At some point, either Dooley will break or the media members will start to break. My money is on the reporters if he performs well enough to keep his job. He established early that if they report BS on the program that they would get diminishing access. Several went out and did just that. Hubbs is more conservative and careful. He's not inside but he isn't cut off either.

It may be that he wants the UT media to act more like the UGA, Bama, LSU, etc media. It eventually comes down to what fans demand. If UT starts winning then no one will want to hear the attacks. Then.... they'll need real access to EVER have a story. If Dooley isn't fired... there's either going to be a bunch of reporters looking for work or alot of groveling.

I think it was Ricky Bobby that said something along the lines of "This is America...we let winners do whatever they want"...

All of this nonsense we've had to put up with from theh local media is exactly what you said before....their attempt to sale papers and get hits on their blogs...and right now that happens by bashing Dooley and questioning his job security...

I believe 100% that their tune will completely change if and when Dooley starts winning more games...

I want us to win for much bigger reasons than that...but I also have to admit that seeing them go from a lynchmob to jock sniffers with him will be very entertaining

Be a difference maker Justin and bring your game...We need you!! FSU...not so much. Immediate playing time in the SEC on the biggest stage in the SEC...or waiting in line in the 3rd or 4th best conference. You will do well wherever you go but at UT you will be a Godsend and play right off the bat :good!:

There are quite a few man-child types down in Prattville. They just don't ever have a real QB. If they could keep a QB they would win every game they play. One of the most talent rich programs in the state year in and year out.

they have had some very good athletes at QB the last several years (Smith, Gibson, and Thomas), just not that polish passing type QB.

The Mighty Indians across the county line out bids them for the skill players. The Autauga County Lions almost recruit as well as the Maryville Rebels. That is one reason none of the traditional state powers in Montgomery have decent teams anymore.
