The hacks at the Orlando sentinel broke the fulmer firing and the kiffin hiring before they we're announced in Knoxville. They always poke their noses in UT's biz, for some reason? I think their Mike Bianchi has a thing for SEC rumors.......

After mike bianchi pissed off Dwight I don't pay any attention to him. For Tennessee folks he's like Florida's version of Hyams.

Some people you can't tell a thing. Thanks for the info its a huge hire. Players and recruits have already said they have been told and one player knows his directly. I mean what else can you tell people.

If it's Shannon then let it be Shannon so we can get moving forward. I understand wanting to make the right hire but if these rumors have merit then why are we not on the recruiting trail yet? National signing day is too close to be slow rolling on already made decisions. JMO

There is plenty of time. It will be announced Monday which still leaves weeks before signing day.

If it is a done deal...curious why the delay in announcing it.

Only reason I can come up with is to keep VN posting...which, per my source, Freak generously donates $0.25/post into the athletic fund at UT.

This. This will be played for all its worth.

In addition the timing may be influenced by the filling of two or more other coaching positions, legal docs, existing contract language at previous schools, family moves (housing, schools, etc.), travel considerations, UT player meetings with new coaches present, and so forth.

Also, this will start the momentum for our big recruiting weekend. I think that DD has some other big announcements planned for Monday to make it a huge day for UT, which gives us a lot of steam for next weekend. I am thinking that Big Mac McCullers commits Monday, and possibly Bourque or some other big commit. Then the big daddy announcement will be made late afternoon, when Randy Shannon and maybe one or 2 assistants that he is bringing with him are announced. I love the sound of all that...now, just need it all to happen. GO VOLS! VFL!

Ok, got it...big splash effect. ESPN hates UT, so let's see how that plays out.

Who's gonna tell Zook the bad news. Or will they divert his plane to Morristown on Monday and buy him a burger.
