Here's another Steely Dan clip:

YouTube - steely dan - the making of peg

Really gives you an idea about how meticulous they are in the studio. I love it.

They actually do a great job with this song in concert. Now, the vocals just can't be duplicated. Even last year with Michael McDonald, who sang the original twangy back-up on that on the Aja album, which really brought that song to life, even then it isn't the same song.

Nonethless, the crowd always goes nuts for "Peg" and I think that Fagen and Becker to this day get some energy from that song that so typified that album. And Becker last time did the guitar solo and did it well, seemed to really enjoy himself. Hope to see them do it again in May, so to speak.

Sarcasm about the Dan???? Them's fighting words, my friend.

It was a joke. I knew you'd get pissed. Anyway there music is okay. I mean you won't catch me jamming it in my truck but I won't change the dial if they happen to come on the radio.

John Bonham was a hell of a drummer!

He was a beast but mostly be cause he was WAY before his time. There are thousands of drummers today that are equal to his chops, but he had a very unique swing. It would go from a blues swing into a hard rock bash in no time and the tranisition was so smooth you never noticed.

He laid the ground work for many drummers today.

Sting has had Carlock play with him in concerts, along with Wayne Krantz and others. Kid is, like, 24.

Danney Carrey has all but mastered the art of sounding tribal on a tradition set of drums. His abilty to play in and out of odd time signatures is ridiclious. If you enjoy drums I urge you to check out some Tool.

Yeah I saw a solo of him. I found it while watching the guy gush over lifting his foot and the amazement of the open hi-hat. He's nasty. He plays jazz style and gets around his set nicely.

No click track in concert. Refuses.
