I honestly don't understand the disdain for the 2 guys who actually do have inside info.

I realize you think that because something they predicted didn't happen that means that they are not insiders.

Do you leave any room that a few of the players may have told the coaches that they were indeed going to come together and be Vols?

If so, then a few misses does not rule them out as insiders.

I will take the fact that they have called multiple commits b4 the media to mean that they do have some inside info.

Did the staff pressure Jacobs in anyway to commit by giving him a deadline or telling him another offer was out and the first one to commit got the spot?

The answer to this question tells us a lot about this situation IMO.
