Should I put a filter in the main drain pipe of the house? How else should I retrieve it? And what is the purpose? I have not heard of this seasoning technique before.Either will work, but before you take it out of the skillet, wrap the handle with a DRY towel, walk to the bathroom and flush it down the toilet.:hi:
How long can you store fresh ginger? And how do you store it? What are your favorite ways to use it?
Thanks Volly and VIF.
It seems the most popular from the two of you, me and my experience in the business is finger foods for horsdoeuvres. That settles that.
I had planned on making Caprese for an app, but that is why I wanted to know if everyone had preferred finger foods. Thanks to the both of you, I'll suggest that as one of the salad choices. That settles that.
As far as the dinner menu goes, I'm waiting for her response to an email I sent her last night. She definitely wants Filet Mignon and Florida lobster tails. I gave her a few ideas and am waiting for her response.
Volly did bring up a good point I didn't think about. I made a note to myself to ask her in my next email, if this will be a casual dress affair or does she expect most to be dressed up. It was my understanding, and I could be way off, that this was going to be a laid back casual par-tey. It's at their house on Sanibel Island, Two story with the living area upstairs and the Lani (equipped with all of my cooking equipment) overlooking a bar and heated enclosed pool. There could be a food fight. Hahaha.
I don't think dessert is going to be an issue, I suggested Key Lime pie, Caramel Pie and Chocolate Chip Cookies. All three are easy and don't take a lot of time. I'd rather spend my time on the other items.
Again, thanks for the input.
Anything else let me know.

Should I flush any herbs or spices with it?
TIA, behr.
RV and I would like to volunteer to be your sous-chefs!
I promise to behave.:birgits_giggle:
I'm really looking forward to it. They have deep pockets and are super cool. It is consuming a lot of my time, but oh well, it's fun and they are paying really well.
I'm gonna take a bunch of pics.
Hoping there will be some single women there too!
Awesome. Where there is money, there is single, hot women. you lucky bastage. :clapping::thumbsup:
You would think, but they are an older couple....he is at least in his 70's and she is probably mid 50's. I don't expect any hotties to be there but still want to hope.
I am definitely going to take some pics of the "grill set-up" it's nicer than a lot of restaurants I've been in.
