Tennessee vs. Arkansas Game Thread

Next week will be very tough. If UGA loses at Rupp, they will be in a "win, you're in" mode on Senior Day. Today, we caught an Arkansas team whose chances would have remained very small even with a win.

Looks like after the KY - Vandy game there will be a 3 way tied for 3rd with a one game lead over us. Looks like we pull for KY because they will have the tougher schedule with FL and GA for them to still play. We still have a chance to get the bye in the SEC tournament if we beat FL.

About two weeks ago, I didn't think a tournament bye was going to be a remote possibility.

Another example of a one man team was Indiana State in 78-79(?). They didn't win the title (lost against Magic and Michigan St) but that team didn't really have anybody except Larry Bird. They had one other "sub-NBA" player (a lefty I think) but that was it.

As far as I'm concerned, the SEC tournament is just for fun now. If we do well, fine. If we get beat in our first game, that's OK as well.

Anyone else listening to the post game show? Bob just set Bruce up to gush about Bradshaw and the upcoming Senior Night by saying "How about Dane, you'll miss him won't you?" and Bruce quickly said "Yep, no doubt." and that was it..

I too would love to see UK play on Thursday, which is a virtual lock if they lose to Vandy. But, if UK beats Vandy, and we win out, we will get the 2-seed if the Gators beat UK.

But Kesling then said Pearl was getting emotional, so don't read too much into that. The dude hit a three today, which probably raised his field goal percentage to a whopping .032 over the past 7 games. Cut the kid some slack :)

I'm not expecting this, but I'm just wondering, if we won our next 2 games and the SEC tourney, what is the best possible seed we could get?

Say we win one of the next 2, and one in the tourney, what would we get?

I'm not smart enough about College BBall to estimate this on my own.

I would think that would merit a 4, possibly a 3.
Hat, did you read the CNNSI article this week where the author basically alleged that UT's #2 seed last year was in fact a seeding error by the committee? Let me see if I can find the link...

Part of it would depend on which of the two we win. Obviously, a win over Florida would be a bigger boost than one over Georgia. Also, a great deal depends on what happens around the country. My guess is that your scenario would result in UT being a 7 seed.

I didn't see that. I would agree that UT in no way merited a #2 last year.
