'12 JUCO DT Damien Jacobs (Florida signee)

"It went pretty good. We just talked about the future how I'd be in their plans and stuff like that,"

"They got big plans with me getting there and having a big impact on their defensive line," Jacobs offered. "It's always good to hear that because that's the number one thing I'm looking for and if they keep telling me that it must be true."

"It gives them an edge because I gave them my word a long time ago and I think I gave them my word because I saw something I liked a lot,"

"They've been coming hard. Texas A&M, Florida, Mississippi State, all of them having been coming really hard trying to get me to sway my commitment,"

"I had that feeling at Tennessee and it was a good feeling, but I'm going to think about it and factor it all in and the final decision will be made from there."
Jacobs on visit from VQ

Reading those 2 interviews should tell us to stop reading to much into what is written about these kids. One seems to have Vol lock written all over it and the other seems give a lot to worry about.

what are our chances of landing a recruit that's committed to UT? I'd say better than average

Committed is a wonderful word, but you know whats ahead for this guy. Lots of promises coming from all directions. Sounds like to me we may have lost a little ground.

well what do you think our chances are? Do you think the coaches are freaking out that he's taking his visits? My point is that the staff has gotten a commitment from a recruit you described as "MUST GET" so it seems they're doing something right.

Dooley encourages everyone to take their visits. Sure, we may not like that a committed recruit is actively going to other schools, but I'm sure his recruiter is aware and is staying in contact.

We're still ahead. Hopefully it holds. Personally, I think he just tells site reporters what they want to hear. It's always "great visit, gave me something to think about."

Don't know if any of you have been to Lubbock, but I really regret not turning around when I was half way there. It's in the middle of NOWHERE. I can't imagine flying into Lubbock. Jacobs will hate it, unless he is paid to play there or b. knows people.

We have nothing to worry about with TTU, really glad he isn't visiting Texas.

Keep an eye on MSU, his coach talks about them a lot and seems to have connections there.

What? Ridiculous! What's not to like about Lubbock?
