The vast amjority of UT fans have no clue who Sumlin is.

They're 12-0 this year but what about that 5-7 record last year?

We're not hiring a new coach, not gonna happen, it makes no sense to do so. Dooley's buyout is too large and there isn't a HC worth a damn out there, not that would come into this situation anyway.

If the Vols were relevant, they'd pay more attention to who is in the top 10 and who is not.

Let's see how good their offense is against Southern Miss. If they put up 40+ I'd be cool with Sumlin being our OC.

I don't think Sumlin would be a good hire at this point, but Sumlin is doing infinitely better against the type of cupcakes that Dooley couldn't beat at Louisiana Tech.

True, but Peterson at Boise beats up on cupcakes too (but then he delivers usually in the BCS and big games... will see what happens to Houston in BCS bowl). CBS is listing him (Sumlin) as the hottest coach available in the country right now.

Sumlin is not going to come here to be an OC, he'll get a heading coaching job in a bigger conference soon. It wouldn't make sense for him to come be a OC at UT, where the head coach is less qualified than he is to be the head coach.

Even if he is, I sure as Hell don't want him and he won't be coaching at UT next year.

People don't realize what firing Dooley would do, 4 coaches in 5 years, not good.....

Then the next coach inherits the same mess and the cycle never ends.
