ya, only difference is it hardly EVER gets quite in the swamp or better yet, Death Valley....I went to the vandy game in 05 when we lost to them...I actually went to 2 games that year, and I know we sucked, but I have never seen such a lack of emotion from anyone...the stadium was deathly quite

Everyone pretty much gave up enthusiasm after we lost to South Carolina. I about lost my mind at the conclusion of that game. I was trying to get the band to stop playing The Tennessee Waltz. I didn't think it was appropriate for some reason. Anyone that was at that game or the Vandy game I think should be able to understand why some are calling for Fulmer's job. Not everyone may agree, but I can't recall every feeling worse about our team than after those two games.

I've been to a lot of games and only even witnessed a couple of 'bad experiences'. My three year old went with me to the kentucky game and the folks were AWESOME. they were getting him involved and letting him run up and down the isle and this sweet couple in front of us even cleared out a place on their seat to let him jump on. If anyone out there from ZZ is readin, thanks!

i refused to sit down at the florida game this year. it truly is pathetic when a person in perfect health and is very able to stand up asks you to sit down while trying to help their team

When people start the wave when an injured player is down.... that is garbage. Show a little respect.

The only time I have ever had a bad time at Neyland was UGA 05 when Jason Allen was hurt. There was some idiot UT fan yelling that Jason wasn't really hurt, he needed to get up etc. I told him to shut his mouth and show some respect. He told me to shut him up. So I tried. I could not get to him. But he did leave shortly after and most everybody around us thanked me for telling him where to go. It was in he upperdeck I'm not sure where. I would like to apologize to anyone on here if they where offended at what I told him or if I bumped into to them trying to get to him.

Long story short...I definately had more fun in the student section then in a "regular" section. And away games are somewhat similar if you get a ticket in the UT section.

But you could always flip the story...what about the people who paid good money and drove a long way and they just want to sit instead of standing for 3-4 hours?

I dont know if this would ever be possible, but maybe they could sell tickets for sections designated as "standing sections". Probably never happen, though.

My opinion is this, when someone is purchasing a ticket they know that they are going to a football game. They should be prepared to have someone standing up and cheering. If someone purchases a ticket, they have every right to stand and cheer, just as someone has every right to sit there and do absolutely nothing. The only difference between the two types of people is that the "sitters" whine and complain when someone stands up. The "standers" do not whine and complain when someone is sitting down.

Here is how I remedy the problem when I am faced with it:

1. Politely inform the "sitter" that you made for your ticket as they did and that you are sorry that they can't see.

2. Ask nearest police officer or usher if you can get into trouble for standing up (they should tell you no).

3. Proceed to stand and cheer for the Vols

4. If problems persist, become more stern with your responses.

5. If problem persist, inform the "sitter" that no one would be standing in front of them if they were on their couch.

6. If all of the above fails, check to make sure there are no small children around and proceed to tell the "sitter" what you think of them. Be creative.:p

I always drink a lot of cheap beer and eat a lot of beans before a game and if a sitter in the row behind me gives me any trouble for standing and being obnoxious I just......well, you know......Works every time.

at the outback bowl i really noticed that our fans weren't really energetic. we stood for a couple of third downs and stuff, but the penn state fans were just standing up and loud the whole game. it was only my 3rd game seeing tennessee play so i was kinda dissapointed. ive only been to neyland once when i was young so i dont remember any jerks or anything. i went to the ut game in fayetteville this year and took crap all day from arkansas fans, but it was all in good fun. The biggest jerk i really met was a ut fan who yelled at my friend for standing up. the guy asked my friend if he minded sitting down so my friend did. then the guy said he was tired of looking at my buddy's a$$ all day or something to that extent. so then my buddy decided he would stand the rest of the game. that was about as bad as it got. some arkansas fan was jokin around with me after the game but i was pissed about the loss so he kinda got the worst of it.

If I buy a game ticket I'm reasonably sure I'm gonna have to consider others wishes, feelings, and preferences as I'm in their comfort zone and their in mine. I feel if your not okay with that perspective you should stay at home, not stand in line, sit crowded, and be bothered. As times change and seasons go by more and more folks fall into that selfish catagory where your considerations are secondary to theirs, it's not just at ball games it's highways, malls, restaurants, etc. It's just a sign of the times and it is what it is.

I'm one of the old guys who gets to an occasional game. I used to stand, yell, etc. but it takes too much out of me now. I come to the games for the live game and being in the crowd experience. I am as passionate a Tennessee fan as anybody. Therefore I don't mind at all if the crowd stands up and yells until they bust a gut. I know before I buy the ticket that I can see better at home because I don't have telephoto eyeballs like the camera does. But just being there for the pregame activites, hearing the band, and seeing first hand all the other blood-stirring things that go with UT football is worth missing a play or two. All I have to do is look at the Jumbotron or one of the numerous TV screens around to see what I missed. I'll never be upset with fans who get excited, stand up and block my view. I realize they shucked out a few coins just like I did for the seat and I don't have any special privileges that entitles me to an unobstructed view of the whole stadium.

Movies are a different thing. If I buy a ticket to a movie and some idiot sits in front of me in a theater that is two thirds empty and gabs all during the flick, it's a good bet he'll hear it from me.

I've been to most home games since I was about 11 but have never really had any bad experiences other than the occasional annoying drunk but it kills me repeat kills me when the wave is going when we are on offense!!!!! At the men's game against kentucky last week they started the wave and some people were still doing it when Lofton was shooting free throws!!!!!!!

man you have no idea, that song is crack to people down here.
Also, for some reason, EVERY UGA FAN here thinks that mstafford is gonna win the heisman.......I'm not kidding, it's that bad.

Man I do love that song. I dont think every fan thinks that, but just the ones that know a thing or two about football :superman:

It is good to hear an older fan that doesn't mind someone standing up a cheering and has the opinion that you do.

Can someone stand in my seat for a year or two while I am gone to school? Nobody ever complains about it in the section that I sit in. And I am probably the most vocal one in the section. Just ask my wife. God, I am going to miss that this fall.
