Limit instant replay reviews to two minutes to decide to overturn or confirm the ruling on the field.

hasn't this already been tried with zero success?

oh yeah...NO ONE has a pre-game like UT. When you're good, you're good...but when you're GREAT...WOW!

I love The Pride and I hate Ohio State but watching them perfrom while forming script Ohio is by far the best pregame performance in college sports...

-Limit the play clock to 15 seconds following a television timeout.
makes sense...

-Kickoffs moved from 35-yard line to 30-yard line.
Oy, we are usually borderline getting the ball to the endzone on kickoffs as it is..

-Reduced charged team timeouts by 30 seconds.
TV guys are gonna love that. 40grand down the tubes..

-Penalties for all kicking team fouls that occur during the kick can be enforced at the end of the run.
eh.

-Encourage coaches, officials, game management personnel, media partners to manage the game in a more efficient manner.
Sort of like saying don't drink and drive. Everybody knows the wisdom of the advice, but some idiots just can't put the dang idea into practice..

-Play clock is started when the ball is handed to the kicker by the umpire on all free kicks.
No prob there..

-Limit instant replay reviews to two minutes to decide to overturn or confirm the ruling on the field.
It is not looking at the replay and making a decision that takes the time. It's determining where to place the ball, do we reset the play clock, what is the proper time for the game clock.

You can still have the pride play at halftime, just not the opponent's band. I think that 15 minutes is enough time to do a halftime show.

I dont think I understand this one, isnt it essentially allowing the other team to run clock if they score, and thus shortening playing time, but the little chart they have says no effect on playing time.

The rule concerns the play clock, not the game clock. The game clock will remain stopped, but the kicking team will have less time to kick it off.

I like the idea of getting rid of last year's changes, especially running the clock after a change of possession. That was ridiculous. I could have told them that before the season started. As for their new ideas, I don't see how they would really shorten the game. Also, shortening timeouts will not fly with the networks.

I can't figure out why they are so caught up with shortening the game...no fan I know wants it shorter! We get a precious few games each year...let us enjoy them!

Shortening the game is not for the benefit of the fans, or, at least directly, for the teams. It is an attempt to fit the games into a 3 or 3.5 hour time block on television.

Exactly. It is so they can get more games on in a day and get more money from ads, sponsors, et al.

"-Penalties for all kicking team fouls that occur during the kick can be enforced at the end of the run."

Does this mean that if the return team is penalized for a block in the back and the ball is returned for a touchdown that they will be penalized 10 yards from the goal line and have 1st and goal? That would be from the end of the run.... ???????
