Possible rematch with UNC?

Right now, CBSSports has us projected to play Wake Forest in the Music City Bowl. They don't have Vandy slated to play in a bowl at all. If we win out, and Vandy beats Wake Forest in their last game of the season, UNC would likely jump Wake in the ACC standings, which would theoretically match them up with us in the Music City Bowl again.

Would the directors of the Music City Bowl favor this match up if it worked out this way, or do you think they would go in a different direction? How much discretion do they have when it comes to who will play in their bowl?

Not sure how much discretion they have, but I would be ALL over this if I was on the board. The ratings for such a low level bowl would be outstanding.

With the way that game ended last year a rematch would probably draw more national attention than any game the MCB has had.

As bad as it kills my soul to say this, Vandy is definately no gimme. Not counting on that W!

Im not counting it yet either. But I think they can beat Wake Forest. CBSSports doesn't have them in a bowl even though they are currently at 5 wins. They have Florida International in the Compass Bowl because they are projecting Vandy to lose out. I don't see that happening, so this is a hypothetical.

I had a blast... Till the end of the game.. Funny though cause all the NC people were actually really nice and they knew they just stole one... They all kept their heads down and didn't say a word on the way out of stadium.. Heard several admit that they stole that win.. I'd like to see a rematch! TN would obviously sellout the bowl as well.. I doubt WF would even get 3/4 capacity...

I'd take a rematch. With the way it ended and the NCAA putting a rule change in because of that game, I think it'd draw a good amount of interest.

Me too. It was great for my kids. They got the feeling of winning a close one, loosing a close one, having the feeling one was stolen from you and they saw a couple of college kids from NC act like asses in the parking lot. All in one game.

That's why we are talking about the Music City Bowl and which basketball school we will face off against if we can manage to win out.

Another very far fetched theory of mine:

Arkansas beats LSU and the BCS subsequently takes 3 SEC teams, we win out and make the Gator Bowl where we will face off against Penn State and finally beat them. This is never going to happen but what a great time it would be to settle that score. Everybody in America would be a Vol that day.

I can't look past this weekend. IF we beat Vandy then I'm comfortable talking bowl predictions. On topic though I would love a rematch with UNC :)
