'12 JUCO DT Damien Jacobs (Florida signee)

TN's DT depth next year:
Couch
A TE who moved to OL who moved to DT - Hood
A walk on in Ayers
A nobody in Carson
Corey Miller who really is a DE with DT speed lol

TN laughs at FL's lack of depth claims

Come on man, Florida's got it so tough with All-Sec DEs and a good interior...

At UT and UF he could come in a start from day 1....Hunter isn't a everydown SEC DT bc of his back problems and the fr aren't going to be ready to start next year. Again, I haven't seen anything other than him setting up a visit and wanting PT. I know UF is after his teammate Brandon Moore(former Bama player) and they are both visiting that weekend.

Next year's DT:
DT-Ease,Hunter, Orr
DE-Powell,Floyd,Westrook,Trail
Commits:
Jafar Mann
Quiz Williams
Dante Phillips

Jacobs visit to UF may just be a "free" trip but UF has tons of playing to offer.

Are Burton and Johnson no longer on the DL?

Kedric Johnson moved to OLB? He was like 6'4 230lbs coming out of high school...did he shrink?

Florida has 4 returning DTs

Shariff Floyd - 5 Star
Dominique Easley - 5 Star
Omar Hunter - 5 Star
Leon Orr - 4 Star

Current DT commits

Dante Phillips - 4 Star
Jafarr Mann - 3 Star

...In conclusion, more talent than us but not a TON of depth. It seems like it would be hard for Jacobs to crack the 2 deep with the players they have returning. Little help Waco? What's the story on Hunter and Orr?

Floyd plays DE and Hunter can't play every down bc of his back. Phillips will be a DE.

I would give the edge to UT for more pt atp but bc he's an EE he has a chance at starting at both schools by next fall.

Yep, being an EE is huge. If he's as good as advertised he'll likely take over Malik's spot in the starting rotation right next to Couch.

Hunter has been serviceable, but not near the playmaker we hoped he would be. he is maybe the 3rd or 4th best DT we have on our team.

Orr is a freshmen who is getting used to playing college ball and the right attitude needed to succeed.

I'd hesitate to say he's going to beat out Hood by the fall.

He'll be on campus in a month or so. If he doesn't beat out Hood by September it will be a big disappointment. If Couch was an EE last year he would have been starting game 1.

Waco maybe verbage is the problem here. Both schools have about the same amount of depth, UTs depth is nowhere as talented /hyped as UFs depth. In the Vols 3 deep at dt there is a former te, a walk on who's name is on a building on campus, a freshman who many questioned if he was worth a scholly, a freshman from Gainesville Fla, and a large de.

Jacobs is a Vol, he is playing the game. He will be enrolled at The University Of Tennessee in Jan. end of story.

Stupid argument. UF does not have more PT to offer. I don't see how an argument can be made. If he could play at UF, cool. He could start at UT, game uno.

I don't disagree, but for people to outright dismiss UF having issues on their DL is being dishonest.

They're talking about 4 and 5* guys...we're talking about our converted OT Daniel Hood...at DT.

Now I like Hood. He plays hard. Lays in on the line everytime he steps out there but where would he be in Florida's rotation?
