alright let's see here:

2002 we lost to eventual SEC champ Georgia.
2003 we didn't play SEC Champ LSU but lost to SECE rep UGA
2004 Lost to SEC Champ Auburn twice
2005 Lost to SEC East Champ UGA 27-14 (edit, UGA also won the SEC)
2006 Lost to both SECCG teams Florida and Ark

yes, we are definitely competitive against these teams

How's Fulamanure's record so far against Meyer? Oh, that is not important. IE will tells us all how competitive we were in those games and how the program will collapse into utter ruination if Phillip the Messiah were not in charge. In fact, I beleive we should be working on a contingency plan for dropping football when Fulamanure leaves. Experts like IE and Vol Beef have made it quite clear that we cannot win without him. Perhaps we can invest the football money into making hockey a varsity sport.

And we lost to Auburn twice how? That's right, in the SEC Championship game since we were the SEC East Champs.

oh wow. sorry, didn't know we were only shooting for SEC East supremacy. guess that's the problem. i know the SEC East Championship means nothing. tell me what bowl did the sec east champions get that year?

UT is competitive, sure, but they're on the losing side of "competitive". Vanderbilt is always competitive too, sometimes through all 4 quarters. If we can rationalize losing by saying "hey, at least we were competitive" then get ready for more 5-6 seasons.

Come on, guys. You're asking for too much from Fulamanure. We have a one game winning streak against Vandy. What more do you want? For God's sake we played in a second rate bowl and got beaten. That is perfectly acceptable. Anyone who doesn't think so hates UT and is most likely affiliated with Hammas or Al Qaeda.

While I agree with you and that's how some view people who dare say something negative about Fulmer or UT I can tell with 100% confidence and assurity that I am NOT a terrorist.....:)

The program is bigger than any coach, always has been and always will be. If you can show me one post where I have even hinted that the program will collapse without Fulmer, please do show. But I can save you the time, this is a lie from you plain and simple.

I do not think Fulmer deserves raises or high praises after the last two seasons. But I do not think he should be run out of town either. I think the program was at a point after '05 that begged for change. Fulmer made significant staff changes and we saw a glimpse of the potential this staff has last year. I am looking forward to a great season ahead.

um, my point was being SEC East champs got us a medium level bowl against a medium level team. you stated it was a beautiful day and you were glad you were there. Meanwhile, the SEC Champion played in a slightly more important bowl, wouldn't you agree?

How am I changing my intentions? You asked "tell me what bowl did the sec east champions get that year?". I told you and said it was a beautiful day which it was. Or is this another time when I need to use my Jedi mind tricks to decipher your post because you mean the opposite of what you type?

I consider all bowls (except that new one prior to the NC game) in the new year as upper tier. The ones between Christmas and New Year are medium. And the pre-Christmas bowls are crap.
