Vanderbilt @ Florida (SEC Network/ESPN3 12:21)

And you still had a chance to win the game.

that's not the point.

the point is anyone with any sense who saw the game knows florida got their rear end handed to them.

same way you can watch vandy play and see that they are competing with people.

and when you are vandy and you are competing, that's a hell of a job.

they came closer to beating florida today than tennessee has been since 2006.

They didn't play Bama closer, that game wasn't even competitive. One of the only times this year though you can say that.

Once it's in the 30s does it really matter? I'm saying they've been in games when the final whistle is blown. Within a score. They blow their games, we're generally never in a position to blow them.

i think some of you are missing the point.

if vandy goes 6-6 and florida goes 6-6, which school achieved more during the year based on what is expected from the program and what the realistic goals are.

the same is true from game to game.

if vandy loses to georgia by 5, that's a hell of
a job because vandy doesn't have the talent
to stay on the field with georgia.

By Vandy standards, Vandy had a successful year at 6-6.

Hilarious.

Vandy? Dont they have like a top 25 class at the moment?

Ya and right now their much lower rated classes are competitive, but forget that, they won't be able to prove it.

That's been the case this year. One of the reasons i wouldn't be surprised to see them win that game. I've watched enough of them without my big orange blinders on to realize that. They have a very good chance of keeping Tennessee home for the holidays.

Don't understand how a team or a coach gets credit for "almost" beating teams.

I hope TN beats the hell out of Vandy. I hope Dooley wins a NC. However at this point it does not look good.

How much better is Florida with Rainey?

not much.

it helps having both demps and rainey so that they can spell one another. but, they are essentially the same player.

florida can't block people up front. when they have, they've won.

demps and rainey didn't cause bama, lsu, auburn or georgia any problems.

Because their team sucks. By what you're saying Dooley and Chizic should have never been hired. You can't have it both ways.

So, the year of getting the breaks is about closer losses? That's dumb.

The UF UT game was massively impacted by injuries, as UTs entire season has been.

Hell I'd bet my house that Brantley is only about 75%. They have the same problem we have...nobody else that is close to competent to play QB.

WTF does that have to do with any of my posts? Dooley put himself on the clock because of the BS he pulled against SC.

here's another way to put it.

vandy is supposed to look like ky does this seaon. when they don't, that means someone is doing a good job.

when vandy is able to go bowling (which is possible), that's more rare than legit national titles at alabama

So...Rich Brooks is a HOF coach for taking the Cats to four straight bowls....that is genius.

Exactly. Given the lack of difference makers on O, aside from scat backs, they're lucky as hell to have won what they have.

Neither Dooley nor Chizic won more than they lost before their current jobs, but they clearly got credit for the jobs they did there. Evaluating a coach is a hell of a lot more than wins and losses.
Vandy shouldn't be in the games they're in. We should be in some game we aren't.
