yeah, funny how the year has turned out so far...the SEC early on looked so deep...and i guess you could still argue that it is, but not with exceptionally good teams....Florida is the only one that really stands out...then it's hard to pick out the next best teams.

LSU and Bama have really not held up their end of the bargain this year for the SEC.

neither have we really. to have the non conf. games and wins we have, and to lose to some of the teams in conf.........could've, would've, should've......

If you want something that really illustrates the struggles of the SEC, look at the dearth of quality nonconference wins on the road or on true neutral courts. There's a good argument that the best nonconference road win was South Carolina's victory at a Gabe Pruitt less Southern Cal in the season opener.

I think we'll have to make up for 7-9 with a good showing in the conference tourney. Unless Lofton comes back playing well there is a good chance we won't get to 7-9. I know most of the remaining schedule is at home, but its pretty tough too. We have LSU, Vandy, Kentucky, Bama, and Florida at home. I don't see us winning all of those so we will need a road win, probably 2. The two easiest road games are SC and GA, so I think those are must wins. It's an uphill battle to get to the tourney from here, I hope the freshmen are ready cause it is crunch time.

Kind of like the LSU football game this year. I expected a loss with Ainge out but to get so close killed me.

ESPN is projecting 6 in

Florida 1
Kentucky 5
Georgia 8
Vandy 9
Arkansas 10
Tennessee 11



The first SEC team to drop out would be Tennessee. If there are only 5 SEC teams UT may be in trouble.

UT is 5-5 the last 10 games, same as Georgia.

nice one on the "true" neutral court....cause i'd say TN over Ok. St. is looking pretty good right now.

Colorado basketball is a joke. I went to few games when I was a student there and it was just pitiful. Losing to CU should bring shame upon your program.

State is a bad team........they were fortunate to be playing UNC the game before the Duke game. UNC completely overlooked NCSU....

you're right about FSU...and they probably have the best player in the ACC on that team.

my only point is that i don't think anyone expected UF or UNC to lose to either of them, but they did.

and Ok. St. isn't on quite the same level as either UNC or FL....

but, you are correct, neither of those losses are to a team as bad as Colorado.

The problem with the SEC is parity. I don't think the league's mediocre, although LSU and Alabama have definitely fallen short of expectations. I do think, however, that the league's bottom feeder teams are better than that of any of the other power conferences. Vandy, Georgia, Ole Miss and Auburn are markedly improved over last year, and strangely enough, all four of those teams are still in the hunt for the Dance. (although I expect the weaknesses of Ole Miss and Auburn to be exposed down the stretch.)

People had better expose and beat up Ole Miss while they can. Andy Kennedy will be absolutely running that side of the league in two years.

I like Kennedy also, and I agree with you, but with one caveat: do you really think he can get enough talent there to compete? There's not a whole lot of tradition or fan support for men's hoops in Oxford.

While we're at it, what do you think about Stan Heath's future at Arkansas? I can't figure that team out. They look terrific at times, horrible at times. My understanding is that he's gone if he's not Dancing this year.
