I dont want them on my schedule......

Not sure why the fear of Texas... they can't coach their way out of a wet paper bag, instead relying on talent and an uberweak conference to pad the record and stats.

The NC had everything to do with Vince Young. Now that he's gone, they will return to chronic, soft underachievers.

Ainge isn't better than Smith. Ainge may be a better pro, but Smith had a great year, and it wasn't a fluke. OSU tried as hard as they could to let Michigan win, and they still pulled it out.

Compare the common opponent we have played. How did we do against Penn State?

How did Ainge do against Florida? How did we do against Florida? You'll have to do better than that.

How did Ainge do against OSU???

I will do better.

OSU 12-1
Tennessee 9-4

Postion adantages

QB: OSU

That Florida played their most impressive game of the year against the Buckeyes was at least partially due to the fact that the OSU defense wasn't as stout as advertised.

That OSU played its worst game since Iowa in 2004 was also at least partially due to the fact that they were playing a superior team that shut them down entirely.

Eight first downs, 1 of 9 on third down conversions, half as many offensive plays, and less than 100 yards total offense isn't a bad game it is being dominated. I think I will continue to watch college football thanks.

Your opinions aren't facts. A typo was fixed in my previous post. How did Ainge do against Florida? How did Smith do?

Florida 13-1
OSU 12-1

UF > OSU

and OSU> Tennessee.

By the way since we're talking about QB's, how did Smith do against PSU. Makes a great play to change the game. As little help as Ainge got, we still didn't score in the 2nd half so that is also on him.

Smith played poorly against PSU except for one play. Either way, the thread is regarding who would you rather the Vols avoid playing. I think the BCS champioship made it pretty clear that Florida trumps Ohio State.

I'm not saying it's outside the realm of possibility that UT loses to OSU, but I like our chances against them more than a rematch with the Gators.

I didn't say I would prefer to play them than the Gators.

I was responding to "based on what"

Florida beat them based on great defense and offensively the game of their lives. OSU would smack us around.

That made it sound like you thought OSU was better and that UF was lucky to win that game. Florida beat us by one and OSU would "smack us around." That's just the impression I got.

Also, anyone who can't figure out that Florida played so much better against OSU than anyone else on their schedule should stop watching college football. Also, OSU probably played their worst game since 2004 Iowa.

Perhaps the truest words written on the board today ...

Florida wasn't "lucky" --they were the better team. But I agree with the sentiment that Florida's best game of the season was played on 1/8/07.

I think if Florida played us again, it would be by more than 1.

Are you saying Florida played a better game at some point during the season.... Show me and I will laugh at your post.

Didn't say that and if you can read you know I didn't. Some reason you didn't respond to the rest of the post? If you didn't see that Florida was superior in that ball game then you were watching in Fantasy Land.

What possible difference does it make if it was their best game? It was the NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP game, it should be your best. That it wasn't OSU's says something about both Florida and OSU. That the other team had a great game is a loser's statement.

Well when you said "I will continue to watch football" I thought you were referring to my post so saying that you seemingly inferred you disagreed with what I said.

Forget how there look this year or last, whats the last team you want to look down and see on a Tenn Vols schedule. Forget the present state of the program and pretend you look up our football schedule and see ? and say o crap. 1-10 1 being the scariest.

1.MIAMI
2.OSU
3.Mich.
4.Fla.
5.USC west
6.Texas
7.Oklahoma
8.Fla State
9.Auburn
10.LSU

USC. I'm a Bruin now and I really don't like the Trojans.

Go Vols! :good!:

Boise St. and Rutgers, while not necessarily to be feared, would be a challenge for UT given the current state of the program and the current state of theirs. I know I'm not the only one who feels this way, but there are some here who think that UT would run over either of those two just because they're not SEC "level" teams.

Let's be honest here. We played the two best teams in the country, IMO, in Florida and LSU. They both outplayed us, LSU moreso than UF, but both needed a good bit of fortune to actually win the games. Granted, they were in our house, but that has mattered little to our squad over the past several years. We have the talent to play with anyone in the country week-in and week-out. I don't like where the program is today any more than anyone else, but I like our talent stacked up against just about anyone. Our coaching and preparation, that's an entirely different issue and easily accounts for our inablity to win close and / or big games.

The only thing that OSU proved to me this year is:
- They were slightly better than an overrated Michigan team at home
- They were vastly better than their very weak opponents
- They were far inferior to a FL team we basically 'pushed' at home.

I'm not sure UT would win, but given historical recruiting, our performance in our losses (2 close ones to two very good teams and one big one w/ a new qb on the road), I think it is much more even than you think.

OSU looked way way better than they were this year. Padding stats against weak opponents does not a champion make.
