As bad as UT needs DT, if he commits to UM, it is time to concentrate and make sure we get this need filled. I would not stop recruiting him, but would not leave a spot opened for him if someone else we wanted was there and ready to commit who was a good DT.

As I have said for a while, only way this kid is a VOL is if Michigan tells him they do not have room for him.

If you look at his picture on the front page of TOS on the Michigan board, he sure looks the part of a Wolverine. I think the only recruits I noticed decked out in Orange at our game were the kids already commited. Maybe Danny will wear his UT camo hat to our game VS LSU.

So wait... I thought he was a vol lock because he wore a camo UT hat one day.....? :ermm:

You can't fault a kid for wanting to go to his home state school, especially after visiting during a game like Michigan had last weekend. That was pretty special. That we are in the conversation says we are doing something right. Also, there is no reason the LSU/Tenn game won't have a special atmosphere too. Time will tell, but it sure looks like he is at least a Michigan lean right now.

Taking his visit no matter what eh? I don't believe that for a minute. No way Dooley wastes time on a kid who just committed to another school. And if the cards fall right for us that LSU game will be twice as wild and loud as the Michigan game.

Yeah he would never do that - only recruit guys who were Vols all the way like Jhunter and Da'rick right?

what do you expect the atmosphere would be like?? Michigan's first ever night game?

How many times is it going to be like that? Saturday night is the best it gets for them

If he's committing prior to the OV, I'm not sure how that looks good for us.

As for the sour grapes here, the staff is not going to tell him he can't visit if he wants to. Hopefully our game day atmosphere vs. LSU can match ND vs. Michigan.

That's what Arnett did last year. Both are from Michigan...coincidence? Hmmm...

Dude's a Vol, folks.

I like how couch saw south Carolina beat bama, in the programs biggest win in their history, and promptly committed to Tennessee... Like a boss

Anything can happen in recruiting, but I have to think that if he was leaning to UM that he would have committed after the win over the Irish. From all reports, the atmosphere afterwards was off the charts. The fact that he didn't commit right there has to be encouraging for UT fans, even if it doesn't prove anything.

Sorry if already posted but has he even been here at all? OV or not, I can't see him committing on the 7th if he hasn't been to the campus. Thanks for the info.

All things point to him being a VOL lock. It is so very obvious.

All this makes you happier than a pig in $^*t doesn't it? You are actually gloating that we are losing out on the biggest need we have. What a complete and utter POS troll.:the_finger: For the love of everything orange take Vol out of your username. I wish O'Brian would just get this farce over with and tell Dooley thanks, but no thanks so the staff can quit wasting what time and recources they have left. Our staff will not ruin his "moment" they got to much class for that. And I am not bashing the kid, I understand picking your home team, just get it over with for gosh sakes.

I have been all about this kid being a VOL from the jump. I just followed what was being said and the articles posting new info about him. It has been quite a while now that it looked like he was going to Michigan if they would make room for him. It does not make me happy at all as I know DT is the 1 major need we continue to miss on. Those who sit on here and sip the koolaid and think all these kids are Vol locks and like to quote the positive Vol info and act like the positive Michigan info never happened just crack me up. Yes, I tend to be sarcastic when people claim "he is a VOL until he commits somewhere else". It's the same story as DJ all over again. After the O'Brien commitment is over, you can count on there will be another star 4-5 star kid who will become the new "big fish" and it will all start again. People have said for a while that my concerns over the DT recruiting was just negative. Well, the list is starting to run very thin. Calling me names is not going to get rid of me so by all means...do what ya gotta do.

Show me evidence that slightly proves he's a UM lean. Everything has pointed to UT leading. He loved the gameday experience, and everyone in the country watching the game did, too. He gave a very pro-UM interview after the game. Duh. The hype will wear off like it does with most recruits. He's taking his time, and not a whole lot has changed, IMO. He likes UM. But all evidence has proved he likes UT more.

For the record even when I have had my doubts I don't think he has ever claimed another leader. He has said they are up there but never said lead or co lead.

Plus the only mention of mom was with Tennessee and we know how that goes.

It's unreal how some of your have lost all hope of O'Brien being a Vol and think our staff should move on...wow...

Guys, he's a Vol. Been a Vol since camp and will be a Vol on NSD. He's going to announce to UT in October before he comes up for the LSU game, book it.

Dan O'Brien is a Vol.

I made this prediction back on February 3, my first and only recruiting prediction this year. I stick by it. Of course he liked his visit to Michigan. What did he have to say to please some of the badmouthers who have posted on this, "Michigan is a hell hole?" Let him make his visits and have some fun, then paint the rock for him when he visits UT. In short, show this kid some love and he is a Vol.
