Peyton Manning to miss entire season

You REALLY think the Titans are more popular than the Vols?:lolabove::lolabove:

I've been to Titans games. The fans seem out of it and they really just act like it's a social event. They all know that they aren't really a Tennessee team anyways.

This couldn't be more wrong. Unless you were at a preseason game.

I'll see what I can find with google. They report the TV ratings on local sports talk regularly, and the Titans' numbers are always higher than Vols' games, and this includes the big rivals such as Bama and FL.

could that be because it's the only game on?

and all the Vol fans taking shots at UT to pump up the titans are hilarious. Actually it sounds exactly like what the titans said when they first moved to TN. Strange how that works

The Titans are way more popular than the vols. Sorry to burst your bubble. The vols are the most popular in east TN, the least populated area of Tennessee.

Wow... You really are an idiot... Do you or have you even lived in Tennessee ? Vols have been in tenn a hell of a lot longer than the titans.... Not just east Tennessee likes the vols, the whole state supports them.. Throw in the fact that it's the states university, and the titans are just an NFL team. IMO the Vols represent the state of Tennessee.. Not the titans. Go vols!

The lowest rated NFL game gets more viewers than the highest rated college games most weeks, if i had to guess.

And yes, Titans tickets sold out slower than usual this year. They usually all sell out within MINUTES.

When was the last time that happened for UT? Here's a hint: never.

So colts bandwagoners don't like the Titans because they were in Houston 15 years ago........but they're okay with cheering for the Baltimore Colts because they temporarily have a quarterback that played at the local university for 3 and a half out of 100 years.

Cheering for one player seems way more shallow than cheering for a team that has been representing your state for 15 years. Peyton wont be here in 10 years, the Titans will.

Good post. I'm also a big Titans fan.

But the Titans are not more popular than the Vols in this state, and likely never will be. Nothing to be ashamed of really. Same thing in Ohio. The Bengals and Browns will never be more popular than the Buckeyes.

When is the last time a Titans game wasn't sold out? Never

When is the last time a Vols game wasn't sold out? Neve--- Wait... Last week.

I agree, now if Painter were at QB I would say 4 wins is possible. With Collins and the talent around him 7 to 9 wins is possible. Collins has never had this many offensive weapons around him.

Oh, this again.

He's never had this terrible of a running game, OLine, defense or coach either.

The Titans' market is way bigger than the Vols'. Just because Vols fans are more redneck, it doesn't mean they are bigger than an NFL team.

more Vol fans taking shots at UT and its fans.

Are you serious in believing the titans have a bigger following than UT?

Yes. He is. And he's right.

Why is it not surprising that the ones that don't realize college football is a peon compared to the NFL are the ones with horseshoes under their name?

I seriously doubt that the Titans have more fans than UT does. It's true in the bigger cities, but the random towns all over the state seem to be orange through and through. Since the Vols have been around a lot longer, it would honestly be pretty sad if they had less fans.

As a reasonable person with common sense, it's my duty to take shots at my fellow Vol fans when necessary haha.

It's pretty hard to believe that any NCAA market is bigger than an NFL market. Now in the state of Tennessee, yeah, the Vols are probably bigger than the Titans. Not so on a global scale.

This thread disgusts me.

If any of you ever took the time to watch Titans football, you just might enjoy it.

Instead, you follow Colts football because it somehow makes you hold on to those years Peyton was here, that let's face it - weren't that great to begin with other than the wins over Bammer.

I have, what did I miss that was enjoyable? Never a commitment to win? Terrible drafts? A cheap owner? Please tell me what I've missed?

When the Vols have the CBS slot against our big rivals, they are the only game on in the area then as well. I don't think that's it. It could be because the NFL as a whole is more popular than the college game as a whole though.

You mean you don't like seeing run, run, run, punt? Or big run, run, run, field goal?

The Titans have never been good. You are right. It's obvious you've been paying close attention.
