What does your name mean?

I chose mine because I had recently become a new fan to UT and was relatively new to the area. Pretty crazy, huh?

When I was little, my buddy T.J. and I were watching a UT game on TV with my Dad and assorted cousins, uncles, aunts, etc...

It was third down and UT was pinned deep in it's own territory, nursing a lead, when, lo and behold, Ole Johnny decided to pooch punt on 3rd down.

I looked at TJ and said fairly loudly, "What the hell was that ****?"

He started dying laughing, I was laughing, and we both looked at my Dad who had fire in his eyeballs like I'd never seen and haven't seen since. My Dad never even spanked me (cue the jokes) but on that day he chased TJ and I all the way to my room, TJ and I laughing all the while, and stood outside the barricaded door to my room for a while just fuming.

I'm pretty sure TJ and I laughed for a solid hour.

We laugh about it today.

I don't think I've ever been asked this question directly.

My name comes from an old man who owned a convenient store that I frequented.
His name was Mr, Hobock. He was the grouchiest, meanest old SOB who ever walked the planet. He never said Hi, Thank You, or even Kiss My Ass! When I would say "Good morning, Mr. Hobock!" The typical reply was some form of troll-like grunt.
I always tried to "kill him with kindness" but it never worked. Mr. Hobock died a couple of years ago. May his contrary old soul rest in peace!
