the Robert Redford/James Gandolfini movie is titled "The Last Castle"

I thought it was pretty good.

Arthur (2011) 5/10

I watched this movie knowing I was going to like it. I think Russell Brand is the kind of actor you like or you have utter hate for. I'm a fan I admit. I get his sense of humor. His role in Get Him To The Greek was for the ages.

The movie is a remake, but what isn't these days? I've never seen the original so I can't comment on it. At least I don't remember seeing it. The original is probably better, as it probably had some originality. Haha. If your a Brand fan, you'll like it. If not and the original gets high marks on your list. Miss it.

Arthur was a movie (like many others these days) that never should have been remade, but it has been because the movie industry has zero original ideas.

Also, there was no way the guy they had playing Arthur in this remake had ANY prayer of playing the role as well as Dudley Moore did in the original. The clips for the remake didn't even look mildly amusing.

Took the wife and niece to see The Smurfs movie yesterday, it was terrible. The thing that surprised me was that the theater was packed for it.

Saw the new Harry Potter this afternoon, mainly because I watched Part 1 on hotel PPV a couple of weeks ago and wanted to see how it ended. All in all, I thought it tied some things up very nicely in a series that for somebody who hasn't read the books and is older than 12 has been a bit confusing. I liked it, but it was Harry Potter.

On a separate note, Hoptown's movie theater might be the worst in the world. After swearing I'd never go there again, we tried, only to find out the 3D projector was broken. We drove to Clarksville, and if you are ever in the area, Great Escape is pretty nice.

Cowboys and Aliens started off solid, but then just got weird. Not necessarily the plot as much as acting, directing, and writing. Olivia Wilde has gotten by on good looks so far in her career, but put her in a scene with Ford and Craig, and her lack of ability shines through.

Finally saw the fighter, been waiting for it on netflix.. now need to see transformers 3 and harry potter part 2

Crazy Stupid Love was good. I'll happily take that as my 1 chick flick for the year.
