Fulmer's Comments after the game

the point is, he makes 2 million a year and you don't, and their is tha main problem you have with him. mark it down, within tha next 2 years tennessee will win a sec championship and be in a bcs bowl game.

The main problem is not his salary. It is his production combined with his salary. Just what makes you think he will win the SEC within 2 years? Ainge is a senior next year. If he doesn't do it then, he's going to get it done the following year with a new starter?

I can't see Boise "killing" Tennessee. They'd probably beat them in the end just as they did Oklahoma, but if OU had a competent QB, they would've won.

Not taking anything away from Boise State, they had a fine season and would beat many alleged top teams.

I watched last night as Boise State choked away a 28-17 4th quarter lead. Their defense gave up a touchdown and game tying 2 pt conversion with under 2 minutes. On their very next play the QB threw a pick six for the go ahead td with about a minute and a half left. Talk about a momentum changer. Talk about a team who had every reason to fold it up and quit. They were, after all, supposesd to lose, and they had already proven that they could hang in there with the big boys. Guess who won the game.

Where is that ability to put a play like that behind us? We still had nearly the entire 4th quarter to play, and a one score deficit. We just folded it up and quit.

i saw fulmer on tha sidelines and i don't think that he folded up and quit so you have issues with some other guys. coaches can't control everything.

Yeah, we really looked fired up in that fourth quarter. We had a chance to come back after Foster's fumble. Instead we let Hunt push us around. He even said that we didn't want to tackle him. I heard several announcers slamming UT for being fearful with their tackling.

Not sure what that means, if he said it, I did not hear it. If that is what you are implying.

it's tha off tha wall prediction. it would be a good game but few teams like that can kill tennessee. they have to be more physical....ark, 90's nebraska, penn state types.

Vandy 05 beat us. Boise 06 could kill us. Antwan Stewart would set an NCAA record for most touchdowns tossed over someone's head.

...or '06 Arkansas, '05 ND, '04 Auburn, '03 Georgia, '03 Clemson, '02 Alabama, '02 Miami, '02 Maryland, '02 Florida.

If there was a corner better than Antwan on this team, he'd be playing. Unless our new recruits can start immediately, next year is going to be pathetic without his and Wade's services.

i don't have to apologize for him. he doesn't have anything to apologize for. look at his record, it speaks for itself. he doing a good job getting tha team back on track. tennessee will never see another 5-6 season again as long as coach fulmer is here. but what you will see is occasional 12-1, 11-2, 10-3 seasons with tha occasional 9-4's. you can't expect to jump from 5-6 to national champion in one year. and can't expect to be 12-1, 11-2 every year with tha parity our conference has.

Who got the team off track?
Who was asking for a national championship this year? How about a bowl win over an unranked 4 loss team.
Keep your expectations low and you will never be disappointed.

everyone of those teams except for clemson was physical. florida i wouldn't count as killing us considering clausen just couldn't hold on to tha ball. oh yeah, those are some pretty fine football teams in that list. i don't see any boise states.
