i can guarantee our atmosphere is just as good, if not better then UT, even though they have a bigger capacity

It's almost impossible to beat Neylands atmosphere if they aren't as down as they have been. Not terribly long ago the sporting news ranked Neyland as the best place to watch a college game. I know you guys have a great atmosphere as well, just pointing that out. Even last years Florida game was deafening even as bad as our team has been.

Have you ever been to Neyland Stadium on a Saturday of a big rivalry? If you have, then there may be substance to your claim. If you have not, then I would definitely say there is no way. You are saying that 20k fewer fans can make the same amount of noise as in Neyland Stadium???
Btw, welcome to the board. It's good to have other fans here to give us there perspectives and throw in their 2 cents. Especially when they are not homers.

I wouldn't say better. I've been to some incredible stadiums, and Neyland Stadium is a breathtaking experience. The stadium, the fans, and the tailgating are tough to rival. I've heard nothing but good things about Aggieland however, and I really wanna make a trip down there some day.

I Totally agree A&M has an awesome fan base and great game-day experience, but he himself said he will live to play in front of 100k fans. As we all know there are few NFL stadiums that hold that many fans. So if its between UT and A&M, I believe he is all VOL, so he can play in front of 100k plus fans. MO and his words.

Last years nebraska game was the loudest game i have ever been to, given i havent been to many SEC games yet. Lets just both agree that both of our schools have a top 5 atmosphere of all college football

if you want to come to an Aggie game this year, come to the tu game. I understand its on thanksgiving, but if there was an A&M game to ever make, its that one. Another one for this year would be the okie lite game. possible college gameday destination. should be electrifying

i have not been to a game at Neyland yet, but its on my list to go. I have had friends go to a game there, and they said it was one of the closest atmospheres to A&M game. and thank you

Should be a good one! I root for A&M every time they face the Longhorns.

Thanks for the invite. If you ever want to come to a UT game, we got Georgia, Florida, Alabama, South Carolina. They would all be great as long as they at home. Ga, LSU, and USCe will be at home.

Von Miller was the first LB drafted in the last draft. A&M used to be Linebacker U. we can hold our on with LB

I agree with you and see your point. A&M has a good history of putting LBs in the NFL.

And even though Von Miller was recently the 1st LB taken in the NFL draft, that just isn't a very good comparison. Von Miller is a completely different type of player than Santos is. Yes, they both play LB, but they play it much differently.

Miller is an outside guy. He is very quick and I believe led the nation in sacks the year before last. He also has the ability to cover. In summary, Miller is a Big-12 LB.

Santos' game is obviously more of a smash-mouth football type and he is a MLB. He can rush the passer and drop into coverage as well, but he is primarily a run-stopper. He has said in many interviews that is the kind of football he likes to play. In summary, Santos is an SEC LB.

Miller and Santos are both very talented and could/could have played in either conference, but I feel the SEC is closer to the type of football Santos would thrive in.

Completely agree. Santos is made for the SEC. With that said, he would be a first round pick at A&M as well as at UT. I just stated Von Miller because he and Michael Hodges brought back the Wrecking Crew. A&M has been horrible for the past 10 years, and we finally seem to be back on track. Von Miller is a HUGE reason why.

Jmo... IMHO, anyone who says, "no homo" should be slobber knocked, your on a football forum, i don't think anyone's really homo around these parts.... Wait for it... And here come the flamers.

The "no homo" thing is just an ongoing joke here on VN.

I pray one day we would regularly have games with those teams mentioned

UT needs to put on the FULL COURT PRESS. He could easily be ours from what it sounds.

It could easily go the other way, sadly.

Quentin Corryatt was on of the best Linebackers I've ever seen

Just slight off topic but sorta on topic .

I'm from Austin, TX (I go to University of Tennessee now so I technically traded UTs :p) and I once went to a Longhorns V Aggies game at Kyle field. I promise you, A&M game day atmosphere doesn't even touch Tennessee's. Promise you A&M doesn't not have a top 5 game day atmosphere. I can already think of 5 SEC teams who have better atmospheres and a few Big Ten and ACC ones that do too.

SEC takes it to a different level as most know, escpecially bama, and Tennessee. I can agree with both being top 5.

True. A&M atmosphere is nothing compared to Neyland, at least. I know a couple guys that went to A&M (one from Houston, one from Fort Worth), and they were blown away by UT games.

I was trying to be nice to the man

The way he likes to play points to coming to the SEC. Every week you get to meet a big time back facemask to facemask. Lattimore, Dyer, Richardson, Lacy, Crowell, Kniles Davis, and Marlin Lane at practice. Straight in your face smash mouth football. You may get to play that style of football only at practice or maybe in the Oklahoma game at times. Santos needs to be in the SEC in front of over 100,000 fans giving opponents a "Neyland Nightmare". Let's Go Vols!!!!

It's kind of funny that some people are arguing over am 8,000-10,000 fan difference.

A&M has a fantastic game day experience. Their 12th man section was even recognized by ESPN as one of the top college football traditions a few years back (I think it included our Vol Navy IIRC). Not to mention I'd imagine tailgating at any Texas football event to be a blast.

I really, really don't think this is going to weigh too heavily on Santos's decision. He's never even been to a UT game to really compare. It's going to come down to distance and playing in the SEC versus that pass happy conference that can't count its team members properly.
