I am pretty sure that the staff knew LD was not a VOL at least the night before NSD. If I recall CDD said in his presser that he kept asking his staff "Are you sure we are ok..are you sure they are commited"? He also said they did not lose anyone they felt was on board. That makes me think he knew BOTH LD and GW were not commiting to Tennessee.

He was clearly talking about the verbal commitments. Skeeter reported that the staff was stunned when Dawson didn't commit on signing day.

I may be alone on this...but I get the feeling that Mack Crowder will see the field sooner than most think. He is a true center and is VERY strong. He may not be one of the most talented OL guys we have...but he very well could be the best Center we have.

figured i better add this. this visit was set up a few weeks ago before he announced his decision date, if things have changed i have not heard yet.

Gotcha. Assuming we get Humphries (which I still doubt happens), are yal going to get Young? I assume you want both, but he will certainly be feeling the pressure from yal's staff if we land Humphries.

Landing a class of Dunker,Hump and Young was the goal but 2 of the 3 is still looking great atp. Young's camp is ALL UF so need to pressure him.

Why are you so eager to doubt this KJ...everything is pointing to us...even the Gator homers

Man, that's just how I am. I think Dooley will end up being successful here (think, don't know). I think this satff is full of good talent evaluators, and think the past two classes have been really really good. Like, compete for SEC good. I just can't bring myself to be confident over guys like Santos and Humphries. Don't want to get my hopes up. That way, if we are lucky enough to land them, I'm even more elated.

He is just one of those people... I definitely understand this mentality with the recent state of our program.

Humphries will likely, very likely, be coming to Tennessee. So will SEC contending seasons... keep that chin up KJ :rock:

the kid loves it here, took him 17 hours to drive here which he didnt like, but he was made aware of a plane ride that only takes an hour and a half. if we were closer i would think we had a great shot at him but i look for distance to be a major factor in the end. he is planning on taking an ov here but wouldnt be suprised if he announces his decision before then and cancels.
