'12 JUCO DE Denico Autry (MSU signee)

How about the UNC game?

I didn't like the ultra conservative playing calling during our last drive. I think had Chaney had a little bit of balls he would have thrown a short slant or tight end seam to get an easy first down so we could've milked the clock out. Instead we ran three straight plays right up the gut. Helen Keller could've seen that coming from a mile.

That said, the catastrophe at the end about the time was unacceptable and purely on the refs. Hard to truly blame the coaches on that one.

Agreed. LSU game was mismanagement, but the players could've stopped Ridley on that last play.

UNC game was on the refs, then the players for just not executing.

You cannot convince me that the LSU game is anyone's fault other than our staffs. It was completely uncalled for and embarrassing.

Seeing that the DL substitution patterns were probably handled by Chuck Smith, I'd say the LSU problem has already been addressed.

Yea. We're not in his top 3. It was mentioned a few days ago.

He hasn't made any official cut yet...when asked if any anyone was standing out he said that Bama, AU and MSU were recruiting him the hardest...he didn't say anything about having a top list yet...hence, we are not not in his top 3

If CDD is truly trying to rebuild the program you do it from ground up and not bring in a guy for the most 2 years. You create a foundation and build on it with players like J James. Yes JUCOs bring quick fixes but do not solve the problem long term.

JUCO may bring 1 or 2 more wins a season but if UT wants to get back to the top JUCOs will not do it alone. JUCOs are good when you have all of talent and you need a plug but as a cornerstone and I think UT would want a player that would be there atleast 3 years.Again JMO.

And before someone says what about AU with Cam and Nick lets not kid ourselves about all the other talent around them. Whcih will be very apparant this year with so much gone.

Saban recruits Juco players all the time. How do you think you guys got back to the top fast. Cody in the middle was a "quick fix". Menzie is a starter. Douglas was going to be a starter. He brought in a DT this year. Wasn't the lineman Carpenter from juco? And he's going after Autry and a big time CB this year. Point is you bring in the best players period. Be it juco or hs players. We've got to get back to the top. Bama was in worst shape(talent wise) when Saban took it over than when Dooley took over the Vols. The biggest difference is that Saban is proven and Dooley isn't.

Hm that might be pushing it. UT was starting true freshman on the OL, a new QB, and a safety straight out of baseball. Not to mention the issues at DL and LB

Saban won a title with a large amount of Shula players. Saying he had less talent to start with than Dooley is pure ignorance.

Not trying to be a jerk, but you might want to check out bama's roster when saban came in. It was MUCH better than what dooley is working with.

Saban's first team was horrible. He didn't have a whole lot on that team. He had some solid players on the O-line that's about it. He coached the hell out of the rest of that team. We have better talent from a base point. It's just younger. Saban had no Justin Hunters, DaRick Rogers, young good O-linemen, or Tyler Brays. JP Wilson wasn't a good QB so don't go there. Justin Woodall isn't anywhere close to Brewer as an athlete. The CBs were just as bad (Lionel Mitchell and Eric Gray). Simeon Castille got caught on an angle by Ainge. Yeah he wasn't the athlete people made him out to be. Saban was starting Marquis Johnson as a freshman. Fulmer lost to Saban with a much more talented team. We let soft DJ Hall kill us. DJ Hall was okay but he had no heart. Probably due to his off the field activities. You guys may want to look at those rosters. The team Saban took over was horrible. Remember they lost to La-Monroe, yeah how soon we forget.

Saban schemed around the lack of talent he had. Why do you think McClain and Hightower were starting as freshmen? Saban is a master of smoke and mirrors on defense. He played juco and freshmen everywhere. Saban had Javier Arenas in zone coverage or as a nickel back his whole senior to cover up the fact that he can't cover deep well. He always had safety help for the CBs because he didn't trust them in man coverage. Dude I have no choice but to watch and hear about Bama games down here. I've got Bama buddies that will tell you those teams weren't that good. The year they went 12-2 was a really a good show for Saban's coaching abilities. He ran the ball and played smash mouth defense.

dude saying Saban came in with empty cupboard is obviously slow. leave him be.

The situations are comparable. Yes, we are in a tighter pickle.

But don't pretend that Tennessee is the only team in history to have super crappy depth left after a series of coaches proverbally effed them.

where did I say anything about UT? Saban did not inherit a dumpster fire - the guy was saying he did. It just isn't true.

You said it right here.

Haha Shula players. Shula at Bama still makes me snicker.
