I'm not the media.

And I'm not saying the 98 team wasn't GREAT (they were). I'm just acknowleding that there is room for argument.

I saw someone post a list last year of the 100 greatest college players of all time....with #1 being Vince Young.

I think that takes the cake.

It's based on strength of schedule and stuff like that. He even admits that several lower-ranked teams could beat higher-ranked teams. I think that's why the 2001 'Canes aren't higher.

Looks to me like the BCS computer nerds were trying to find something to do after the season was over.

these kinds of lists are kind of ridiculous....

the only thing i know for sure, is that the best teams i've seen in my lifetime are:
95 nebraska
04 USC
05 Texas
01 Miami
92 Alabama
98 Tennessee
88 Notre Dame
86? Oklahoma
93 FSU


not in any particular order, but that 95 Nebraska team was awesome....the 01 miami team was probably the most talented, but they had some squeakers that year that they shouldn't have had. the 95 huskers destroyed everyone they played.

Thats a solid list.

One question...what about 2003 lsu? I always think of them as dominant, but Im sure Im biased...I saw them destroy uga in the sec cg.

They also got spanked by an 8-5 Florida team in Baton Rouge. While I'm not questioning their merits in being awarded their NC, I do think that removes them from the list of best ever.

they were good, but not what i would call "dominant".

i don't know that i'd call our 98 team "dominant" either, so i guess i'm just being a homer there. cause in reality we weren't. every game was a nailbiter it seemed like, but once it was all completed, to look at who we beat that year....wow. But as it was happening....jeez i probably had 5 heart attacks.

removing the orange colored glasses, the rest of my list is what i would consider my top teams....that i've seen anyway.

If Florida beats tosu, I think a lot of people would see them exactly the same way.
