Wildfires now in the county here. One big fire south of the ranch -roughly 30 miles away, the other northeast -roughly 16 miles away. Neither contained, not enough firefighters.

We've been lucky thus far, but it appears that the Brazos Valley is about to run out of luck with these things.

Wind has been terrible the last two day and nights. I can see smoke clouds and have started to see ash debris on my jeep. Mom says it's really visible from the ranch, but she's doesn't think it'll ever get there.


I texted her earlier to get updated. She told me it looks like a big white thunderstorm everywhere.
