Well, pard, it's an old term of endearment sort of like buddy, mate, etc. But you don't want to go callin' the women folk pard. I made that mistake once when I squired the gracious and beautiful Betty Lou to the country club ball back in the day. Well, she got madder than an old wet hen and her stare would knock a freight train off the tracks, if ya know what I mean. Just about spoiled the whole encounter because she was best known as the drawer shuckin' contest winner in the county. She worked in her Daddy's winery where she was well known as the best cork soaker ever. Know what I mean, pard?Can I get an explanation on the pard thing?
