Well outta all the "causes" for pleurisy, the c word stood out pretty big to me. Damn I hope this is some fluke bacterial infection. And y'all are right, I am getting a little freaked at this point.

only if they test for it. I'm sure they have no reason to. I think you might be freakin' just a little. Probably something very simple.

When I say simple, I don't mean to make light of what's going on. Just that it is probably not anything life changing/threatning.

I've known a bunch of people that have had pleurisy and none of them had cancer as the cause of it. They all got well and moved on.

Don't freak until you have a reason to freak. JMO. I know a few guys that get pleurisy almost every year. Dr says it is workout related from huffing and puffing to hard.

TX, if you were here, I could do a calcium score on you. Check out your coronary arteries. Might want to ask your doc about one of those.

Lulz. Thanks for the info. I can't think of anything that would have caused this. Nothin makes a ton of sense.

My thing is, if the took blood, they ought to rule out this kinda thing. Maybe they did and didn't hear. They gave me some chill out pill so my bloodpressure would go down. I need to call my mil and see if I missed anything.

google unstable angina and see if the symtoms fit. I doubt it will, but just curious.

I don't know man, some of it sounds right, but sounds like it woulda been mentioned after they Hooked me up and ran the blood work. Will my regular doc be able to tell me more about all this? I mean, if it is what it is and the er gave me some med, what is my doc gonna tell me?

Seriously?

He's probably going to give a good cardiac work-up. Stress stest, echo, CT calcium score (make sure you ask him about that too). Your at the age, you need one any way. How is your family history? Any heart attacks, strokes, aneurysms, etc?

Heart problems are like a tradition in my family. It killed my dad. Mom has high blood pressure, it's not good either side. Doc said today though, that I don't have a history of it though. They gave a sheet today with a description of costochondritis. What do you know about that.

I think they ruled out the heart issues and lung issues. Had a collapsed lung back in 2006.

I'm thinking this is some kinda stress thing combined with acid reflux. Like something simple and normal, but when I feel it coming on, I panic about it and it gets worse. I've always been afraid of heart failure. Always.

I honestly thought I was going to have one this morning. Dad had his first at my age, his last one killed him 32 years later. I've got a reason to be worked up that kinda stuff.

These two things tell me pleurisy. Costochondritis is were your ribs meet your sternum and it gets inflammed.

There was a lady at our church doing a lot of this stuff (not all) and they diagnosed her with a panic disorder, hopefully yours will be taken care of quickly and it won't be anything major serious Tx
