I didn't learn anything that I didn't already know. Barnhart is stealing money. Legally!

that was stupid. I can put together bits and pieces from old UT beat writer articles too. Barnhart had no original thought in all of that. Just the same old crap, on his site

Barnhart is just horrible! He is like every other college writer/analysts, its all about Alabama, Florida and Georgia, everyone else is just bottom feeders. Only time he ever spoke well of Tennessee is when crispy cream was here and he had a huge man crush!

The persecutory delusions that some of our fan base suffer from never cease to amaze and amuse me.

Ya, I'm dumbfounded at the previous two comments. I shouldn't be at this point, but it is just strange how distorted some people's view of reality apparently is.

Don't you people know that the whole world is against us? Everybody but us are "tools", they suck, they are thieves and beat their mommas.

I don't believe Tony's article was directed primarily at hard core Tennessee fans. There are fans of other schools in this country, believe it or not, that enjoy reading stories about other schools teams.

My "opinion" wasnt based on that article, I think Barnhart is an idiot plain and simple. As much as I disagree with alot of what is said here, I believe people are allowed thier opinion so I dont try and tell them what they should think and tell them how dumbfounded or delusional they are. Quit :cray: everytime someone post somethin you dont agree with or like! Have a good evening :finger3:

What? I thought all national writers had to bow down to all things UT, in every single piece they ever write?

I used to think Barnhart had some legitimate insight about college football, but I have to agree with some of the posters who aren't impressed with him. His analysis is pretty superficial generally and he's become way too much of a UGA homer. I agree, he's not a UT hater, but it's rare that he offers anything unique.

I know, it gets boring every June or July when all of those pre season magazines come out and all that's in them is Vols, Vols, Vols.

Excuse me? So you haven't heard everything he wrote in that article before? I couldn't care less what he wrote in it. That article has already been done before by someone else, Barnhart is just regurgitating info. It's like some nobody retweeting a David o Brian tweet about Braves baseball when everybody that cares about the Braves has already seen it. In essence, piss off

Got to talk about something in the off season.

Somebody mentioned it earlier and it was a good point, I'll say it a little differently. Most of the country are not Tennessee fans, this article was directed more to them than us. Moreover, you're not going to find a national journalist who brings any real profound insights on the Vols that we don't already know.

Bingo. I read anything and everything that has to do with Tennessee football. It helps me get a sense of what the national perception of the program is, so I can then compare and contrast to what I know to be true.

Not really sure why a link to an article that was clearly called a "RECAP" has turned into a referendum on the author and his relevance to Tennessee football.

I'm no Tony Barnhart apologist, but considering some national media paint a Barney Fife with a whistle visual of Dooley, I consider his (Barnhart's) take to be a fair assessment of the first season.
