Hope we dont let them out of their LOI..make them sit out a year if they wanna leave

Stay classy.

Why should these kids be punished for a situation that is completely out of their hands? They committed to Pearl, and UT chose to let him go. No reason to hold 17-18 year old kids hostage at a school they have no desire to be at, playing for a coach they don't like.

I'd tell them to meet the new coach when he is hired first.

Oh!!!! I get it.

It's cool when Kevin Ware wants to not be here when his coach his gone, but Bryce Brown deserves to have his ACL torn when his coach left and he didn't want to be here anymore. Gotcha.

Can't blame him for this at all. When we find a new coach we will still have a good chance of keeping him on board.

I don't think anyone is saying that he should have to stay regardless. Hire a new coach and have him rerecruit the four questionable guys and we may be ok for next year.

Oh!!! That makes it better. Bryce was enrolled here, his coach lied to him, and left.

Kevin Ware knew this could happen, but still signed the LOI.

What happened to "You sign for the program, not the coach" talk I kept hearing for months with Brown?

It's an exaggeration. But regarding the side I'm on, I believe UT needs to laugh at him and force him to wait. We will be thin as it is next year. We don't need 6 guys leaving and none coming in.

Again, stay classy.

It doesn't matter what the roster is going to look like next year. Firing Pearl was UT's choice, and they should be the ones forced to deal with ALL the consequences that come from that decision, one of which is kids who committed to Pearl deciding to play elsewhere. It's wrong of UT to force these kids to be the victims of a situation that was not of their making.

maybe if Bruce wasnt a scumbag, he would have sold the university instead of himself and this kid wouldnt be in this position

He's making a big mistake. He's going to be disappointed by who would still want him this late in the process.

If that's true then why wait? What if we hire somebody he despises. More time will have passed and it will be even harder to find a new home. If we hire somebody he likes, maybe that coach will take him back. The new coach wouldn't feel like a woman scorned and should have no problem taking him if he's a good fit.

I don't know about being okay next year, but I don't blame any of the kids who are questioning their commitment to Tennessee. The new coach should absolutely have to "rerecruit" them.

Yeah, that's smart. What kind of message would we be sending to future prospective recruits? I wouldn't sign with a program that pulled that shiz.
