The only thing I see coming from this is that the University will have a black hole on their mens basketball team, that if they don't get filled immediately the team may completely fall apart. I see Tennessee getting slammed with violations, problems in recruiting for many years, and praying to get invited to even the NIT. I hope Hamilton or whoever is in charge has a captain to right this ship because the UT Titantic is about to launch off.

From what I'm hearing keeping CBP the NCAA will definitely make sanctions worse. They are basically forcing UT' hand and Hamilton worked his butt off to keep Pearl , until in mid December when his bump violation came to light 4 days after the initial investigation in Sept. CBP has known since mid Dec he was gone and this is all posturing. He had the support of the Chancellor and Haslam until he foolishly didn't report the bump violation in Sept and then all support was gone and ge was told to lay the groundwork about CBP.

I know everyone has their sides on the issue of Pearl and Hamilton. The question I have is will this issue hurt recruiting for the university across the board? The football team has been shaky the last couple years and the basketball team needs the pieces to get recruits to want to come here. Will high school players families want their children coming to a college that has problems with the law, coaches that cheat and withhold the truth, and an AD that can not even control and run his Athletic Dept.

This is confusing ... Kiffin cheated and many Vol fans went on a rampage when he sneaked off to USC ... now when Pearl cheats many Vol fans are wanting him to leave.

Terrible comparison based on time alone spent at UT. BP became one of the fans, Kiffin didn't like us, and we knew it. Generally speaking, of course.

What is confusing is that it appears that Hamilton may be the one to make the decision on Pearl. That should be done by the new AD and the new AD should have been in place 2 years ago.

Hamilton wanted to keep Pearl. He is no more than a talking puppet at this point in Pearl getting let go.

People were upset at how Kiffin left. Pearl lied to the NCAA, and if we decided to keep him,(which we aren't) our program would be hit extremely hard by the NCAA. Do you want a one year post season ban and 1/2 seasons without Pearl if he stays?
