Per Adrian Wojnarowski

Nets will receive Deron Williams in 3-team deal that will send Derrick Favors, Devin Harris and picks to Utah.

Utah loses their hall of fame coach and their star point guard? Sucks to be a jazz fan. That franchise just sunk deeper into irrelevance.

I think they made out pretty well though. Deron Williams talked about signing with New York. They could have gotten nothing for him.

The Nets record is currently awful so they'll end up with two lottery players and a starting point guard. Not a bad return.

Now that they have Al Jefferson, Paul Milsap and Derrick Favors, wonder if they'll make another trade.

I am a Jazz fan. D Will is my favorite player (time to find a new one). He will be missed, but if he was bound to leave then this move was brilliant. I don't like Harris, but Favors is very promising.

Jazz will be fine. This was a good move imo. Loading up on draft picks never hurts.

I love the rivalry brewing with the Nets. The Russian drives up the price on the Knicks for Melo and then trades for D'Antoni's favorite pg. Sucks for us but I love it at the same time.

They did came out okay by at least getting something for him but this years draft is weak. You need a star to compete doubt there is one in this years draft. Makes me wonder if they had made this trade 2 weeks ago does sloan leave?

The future star players may not be cut and dry in this years draft but there are almost always one or two in every draft class. Guys like Monta Ellis and Dejuan Blair fall to the second round. If their GM does their job, they should be able to come away with one or two more quality prospects on top of Favors. He has two extra shots with two additional first round picks.

Jazz's Williams is not happy with trade.

Deron Williams was traded to the Nets on Wednesday, in a package that sent Derrick Favors, Devin Harris and two first round picks to Utah.

Williams is reportedly unhappy with the trade, according to reporting from the Salt Lake Tribune.

The trade came together very quickly and Williams was completely shocked to hear about it. Via Brian T. Smith/Salt Lake Tribune

Nets may have made a huge mistake and I don't like where the NBA is heading.

It's all about the players at this point. They whine and complain until they end up on the team they want to play for. It's their life but wow... they sure do have a lot of pull for being an employee that's making millions. I'm pretty sure I'd just shut up and do my job if I was making the kind of money they make. Throwing a ball around for a living sounds awful!

It tells me that the league needs to be contracted.

lol

I understand the occasional player demanding a trade but it's like everyone at this point and they'll only accept a trade to one or two teams. That really limits the market and while the Nuggets and Jazz have made out nicely, wonder what kind of offers they'd receive if there was a larger field making offers.

The Raptors and Cavs had their hands forced. They either accept the 28th pick in the draft or they get nothing. Like I said... I know it's their lives but they seem to feel entitled to do whatever they want despite making 15-20 million a year. That doesn't include any of their endorsements. The smaller market teams are about to die off. Might as well contract my Pacers. Maybe they can trade Danny Granger for a box of pencils and Roy Hibbert for a bag of erasers.

Even if these small market teams like the Denver and Utah walk away with a bunch of young talent, who is to say the same thing won't happen to them all over again 5 years from now? They finally get some young pieces in place only to have their young guys demand to be traded to the team of their choice or they'll walk in free agency for nothing.

Seems pretty crappy to me. Then again, I do cheer for a crappy small market team.

I don't see an end to small market teams. I think contraction is the best thing that could ever happen to them. Except the ones that get contracted obviously, but Memphis doesn't need a team, Toronto is a joke, Charlotte is a joke. Pick 1 or 2 more and we've got a league again.

Would certainly help the Pacers out a bit if a couple of teams were contracted. I'm not quick to jump on the wagon though because it could very well be the Pacers contracted. They've been losing money for years. They even lost money the year they went to the championship. It's just going to become harder and harder to compete because there are only 5 starters per team. Every superstar you have makes a huge a difference. Small market teams are on the verge of picking through the scraps. It's going be one horrible team trying to outbid another horrible team for Darko Millicic during free agency. The teams with superstars will laugh as the small market teams overpay for garbage and get swept in the 1st round.

Although...

If the teams with 3 superstars can only afford to pay the rest of their roster the league minimum, some of the others teams should be able to put together solid rosters with more depth that can compete.

We'll just have to see I guess.

Go Grizzlies!! lol. It is true tho. But everyone knows the problem. The REAL problem is what is the solution.. Do you not let them leave. Do you tell them they have to stay? They need to find a way to make the market fair for even small market teams so everyone can compete equally. But is that really fair to the BIG market teams like the Celtics, Lakers, and ect ect.. My answer is idk. So hopefully someone does. :p

They could contract the league by getting rid of teams with two teams in one city. YOU say Memphis doesn't need a team, but if thats the case why do SOME cities need two teams. Yeah the market is bigger but wouldn't there be more fans for one team if they contracted the cities with two teams? I don't think contraction is the answer. People like having teams in their cities. Or we can go your route and get ride of all the Non major city teams.. Hell while were at it lets move every team to NY, L.A. Miami, Dallas, and all the major cities. They can just have inner city clug fests between which guy has the most money. Don't be a douche.
