Lol at your 5th point. They get themselves in trouble with too many passes (which at times is just one). Nearly every time the fast break player (with the ball) took it himself, the result was positive. The passing is awful!

It was not like that play came off a turnover or something, the ball was rebounded and we came up the court 5-on-5 and somebody obviously just forgot to defend, tatum sprinted from about 40ft out straight to the bucket, nobody even tried to foul him. It is enexcusable I don't know how you can defend that.

8. Chris Warren is this year's Devan Downey. He has no meaningful help.
9. Andy Kennedy should get out while he still can. Ole Miss is headed off the cliff.
10. A win Thursday night is imperative. You can't give away games against the SEC Worst.

Do you still think highly of him? I know Ole Miss isn't the greatest, but how can they be this weak so far into his tenure?

Edit: Just saw the comments about the transfers. Still, I'm surprised he hasn't made the NCAA tournament yet.

They'd be considerably better off if their two best inside players weren't now at LSU and South Carolina because of family issues. Terrico White leaving a year early didn't help, either. Ole Miss doesn't seem to be terribly concerned about their basketball program having the resources to compete.

Vanderbilt may lose next and Belmont lost to some crap team this week. Hence our RPI is definitely dropping.

Ha! My church league team jacked a 3-on-1 Monday.

The guy leading the break tried to be all clever and throw a low bounce pass with english on it around the one defender. Took the wing an extra step to get a handle on it, and then he was too far under the board and missed the layup.

Oddly, though, neither guy hung his head and pouted about it...they just got back and played defense (despite the fact that the whole team was making fun of them loudly for a few).

could someone tell me why top colleges aren't beating down the door of the great hatvol? He seems to think he knows everything about basketball. With all of his expertise one would think he would have job offers galore.

Never run a 3 on 1 fastbreak, always turn it into a 2 on 1.

I was with you on most of what you have reported except for this comment. The SEC is head and shoulders ahead of the Valley and much better than C-USA.

Using collegerpi.com as an impartial reference, the Valley's average team rank is 241 compared with 98 for the SEC. And, the SEC has 8 teams ranked higher than the Valley's highest ranked team.

C-USA is much better than the Valley with an average ranking of 121, but the SEC still has 5 teams ranked higher than C-USA's highest ranked team (Memphis). A 23 point difference in average is considerable. While averages are just that...averages, conferences are judged in part on the elite teams in the conference. C-USA simply does not have ANY elite teams. Credit is generally not given to conferences with a bunch of mediocre teams like C-USA. They must have some great ones.

The SEC is SIGNIFICANTLY better than either of these conferences.

I'd like to know who these elite teams are in the SEC. Nonconference RPI is in great part tilted by who can afford the best buy games. The SEC will always have an advantage over, say, C-USA in that regard. However, if you think the SEC would do significantly better than .500 if they played C-USA in a series of neutral court games, you're sadly mistaken.
