'11 MS JUCO DB Izauea Lanier (Tennessee Commit)

From what the KNS's Andrew Gribble posted last night, it sounds like Lanier was here...but maybe he was wrong:

Visitor Watch: A small, but important group of official visitors will depart from campus today after a weekend around UT's coaches and players.

Junior college defensive backs Byron Moore (3-star, Los Angeles Harbor Community College) and Izauea Lanier (4-star, East Mississippi Community College) were joined by linebacker Gionni Paul (3-star, Lakeland, Fla.) as the only uncommitted official visitors.

Moore, who has offers from around the country, redshirted a season at Southern Cal in 2009 and then left the program this past summer. Lanier recently de-committed from Auburn and has garnered interest from a number of SEC programs, including Florida, Arkansas and Ole Miss. Paul has a number of offers from major programs, including LSU, Louisville and Michigan.

UT commitments Crowder, Downs, Alan Posey (OL, Athens, Ga.), Devrin Young (RB, Knoxville) and Christian Harris (LB, Woodstock, Ga.) also made their official visits.

Some recruits say enrolling early a plus GoVolsXtra

As someone already posted Lanier did'nt make it in, looks like the Vols got passed by someone.

Problem with Lanier visiting later is him being an midterm guy. He's set to visit UF, Miss and Arky the same week. He can sign his LOI on Dec 13.

reading through old threads,

When someone guarantees that TN will get no players from USC

Or says that Cam Newton is not going to do anything in college and is not nearly as good as Matt Sims,

or we will not get Arnett etc...

At some point people should notice...You would think?

We are not out of it for Lanier.

That was Kiffen who said Mat Simms would be better than Cam Newton.

It wasn't just Lane Kiffin who thought that. There were alot of dumb a$$es on this site who projected him as just a "system" QB. Tennessee blew it, plain and simple, on the recruiting of Cameron Newton (Or lack there of). He would have definitely gave us a few more wins this year. Lesson learned. When you have an opportunity to sign a great athlete (regardless of his system preferences), you sign him.

Guys, guys, calm down...

Just because he isn't in the picture doesn't mean he didn't make it in....after all, somebody had to take the picture--he was just the one holding the camera.

;) lol

Lanier will be a good pickup for you guys, just the lore of UF nowdays. You guys can come in at the last second & offer & take him right out from underneath us. We really need to get Moore now.

Florida definitely won't be a joke with their secondary for at least two more years. They got a lot of talent in that area.
